Hey so i built my summer set up yesterday and everything is fine. But I just cant get the good speed I use turf with soap but I think my kicker might be too big or something it's 3 feets by 1 foot high by like a bit more than 3 feets long. It has a 20 degree angle. Here's some pictures of my set up.

I'm really desesperate for help haha thanks!

You need a higher starter I would think.. Doesn't look like those stairs would give you THAT much speed.. Using soap and water too?

The drop in is too short. You need to build a platform about three feet tall or so to put on top of the stairs. And if you still don't have enough speed after that, try putting some snow fence on the turf. You could also shorten the transition a little bit.

thanks for the help guys ima try building another drop in and also is that snow fence much faster and how much does it cost?

Transition from down to flat and flat to up look too abrupt. That will kill speed. Also your kicker looks pretty flimsy. If it flexes when you hit it that will make you scrub speed too.

My suggestions:

Firm up the kicker

Fold some carpet or old towels or something and lay them down where wood meets grass and see if you can smooth out your trannies.

See if you can find J Jelly at a farm supply store. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I am sure it will work better than dish soap and water. It should just be about getting the right mix of J Jelly and water.

That should work, but if it doesn't, build a 2 or 3 foot platform so that you can give yourself a few more feet of dropin.

i built a like 2 feet drop in and it still doestn work i get to the end of the kicker and like cant jump/have enough speed to get to the rail, ima go get that orange snow fence thingy 2morow will that help me? So basically I should put some towels where the drop meets the grass, you think that would help?

ive only used snofence so im not sure but i think it is faster but u have no control. not sure how much it is. my dad owns a roofing company so he has rolls of it in the garage that i just used

also how big is u guy's kickers mine is 3 long by 1 feet high by like 3.4 feet and my rail 1.5 feets high or something is that 2 long im really wondering if my kicker isnt my problem

Snowfence for sure, that stuff works wonders. or even i dont' have snowfence i have like this green fencing but it works just the same. also you could just use rungs instead of the solid bored, cut down on surface area

put some ply wood under the turf, over the grass.

smooth out the transition from the drop in to the grass with another piece of plywood so you can pump it.

ima try with towels to soften the transition and I already puted some wood after the picture was taken, Ima try with the snowfence and hopefully it will fix all my problems :/ thanks everyone for the help really appreciated :D
