Southern VT just got obliterated

They predicted a 18'' storm and we got 46'', mount snow was buried. I just skied dry untracked bottomless powder for the last 2 days it was insane. No joke they had to close a trail because it was to avalanche prone with this much snow. Some guys poached it and started a slide. This one storm accounts for a third of the total snow this season.

Probably one of the biggest east coast storms of the decade.

The wind blew like 10 feet of snow into a powerline gully off Beartrap and I got to ski about 300 vert of untracked chest deep pow it was the best run of my life. how can I go back to lapping an icy park all day after this?

On a side note last year I made a thread about Vishnu wets being a pow ski and yeah I was wrong, there good in like a 1-2 feet of snow but I had to take out my SFB's for this.

This drop was pretty goof

lol nice goof drop. so sick they got that much. still feel lucky to have gotten almost three feet up in the mrv. best conditions in years.

I literally move to Colorado and the very next year carinthia fires harder than the past 4 seasons combined and they get a 40”+ blizzard, I can’t win man

Try being in Europe this year, only powder I've seen this season is in pictures!

Stoked for everyone getting to ride deep stuff, post all your videos!

talk about cursed. I moved to slc last year, ruptured by spleen at snowbird on a hardpack day. Decided to move away.. and missed a historic season. 40+ storm is just every weekend in the canyons this year

I was there the week of the 22nd, massive 50 or so inch storm but locals said they hadn’t gotten shit in weeks and it was nice to have some normal conditions

a similar storm hit my local here in montana about 2 weeks ago. they predicted 16 inches overnight and ended up getting 55+ the other cool part about it was that Showdown was the only mountain that got that much. and i also skied about a foot of snow the day before the storm hit

There’s nowhere steep enough to slide at Mt Slow

i think it's possible, slides can happen on shockingly flat faces sometimes, and i'm pretty sure MOST of them occur or pretty mild shit (30-40* ish?). doesn't seem impossible for a tiny slide to release somewhere on mt snow with this storm

ive already watched a slide video from...idk either smuggs or bush or mrg or similar... from this storm and it was NOT a steep slope at all

Ripcord is. I know because it was closed and I came out of the woods halfway down it and the patroller that stopped me at the bottom told me they needed to avy test it.

I was so pissed that I couldn’t make it out there on Tuesday.

I managed to get some laps in before work yesterday and stayed high up on K-1. The wind kept blowing the snow from the night before, so the woods that morning were epic. Almost had some tickling my waist as I was going through old cascade, but with the snow and the sun peeking through the clouds it turned out to be one of the best days I’ve had on snow so far this season.

what town is this?

Like how much snow will they have? and will all the parks be open

Yes parks will be open and probably nice and soft. It’s looking like they might not have full snow cover in the woods but it will definitely be fun

i went skiing today, and if it weren't for me skiing 3 new secret lines, it certainly wouldn't have been worth it because of weather, which is insane. we just got 30 inches of snow and three days later its not even good. fuck new england
