Sound system for car

So basically I have a toyota land cruiser with a system that is completely shot. It can play music but its just shit.

So I was wondering if anyone with experience with the land cruiser or any car sound system can give me advice on what speakers I should get. I want some that deliver a good loud sound with some bass to it. But Im not sure I want to get a full on bass and amplifier. maybe later. How much is this going to cost me? Dont need top of the line products, but nothing thats going to blow out fast.

The deck (head unit) will actually provide a higher quality sound in comparison to the factory installed unit; even with the exact same speakers. Begin with replacing the deck, then the front two speakers, and then work your way back.

if your not looking to spend alot off the bat, get a new deck and get some alpine type s or type r speakers and look into subs after that.

look up you're local car audio specialist. don't support big box stores, they aren't knowledgeable.. do the industry a favor and support the little guy.

I'm a big fan of Kenwood head units. I've had a couple, my brother has had a couple, and my dad had one. Good shit.

Go to crutchfield.com, enter in your vehicle and see what will fit your car. They sell everything to make the wiring work and dash kits to make the install look factory.

crutchfield.com is the absolute best website to buy online. they have a call center if you have questions, and lots of info to get you started

In our WRX, we just have a truck wedge with a Rockford Fosgate 10" sub and it does great in a hatchback. On our Boombus raper van, we either just user our little bluetooth speakers or we have 250-watt PAs blasting in the back. If you carry a lot of gear, you will for sure regret putting a huge ass box in your trunk. If you have the space, go as big as you want.

Don't overlook the amp and if you are on a budget, favor a better amp over the expensive sub. Getting a used Amp and a new truck wedge and sub will keep your wallet fat and your rear view mirror shaking.
