Sound in the ads is crossing the line.

I have been getting this ad fairly recently lately.

It has sound. Please do what you can to remove this ad, or at least the sound, from the site. If its out of your control, that sucks cause I really hate when it happens.
 
yep, i was just going to make a thread here. it has got to go. i had no clue of the reason why that sound was coming from my computer until I closed some windows and realized it was the ad on NS!! didn't think newschoolers would go so far.

another minor complaint is animated ads, especially obnoxious ones. I didn't like the flashing one-day-left-orage-masters ad (also that adidas ad at the bottom, but not as much). it detracts from the actual content on the site and is distracting, but i guess that's the point.
 
my thoughts exactly. I understand that any ad money coming in is good for NS but at the same time these ads are just obnoxious. All of the beeping and the shaking and shit makes NS seem like a B listed website. It looks like one of those cheap ass sites like ebaumsworld.com.

In all, keep the ads from skiing or sporting goods sites, not "Congrats you've been the 1,000,000,000th viewer!"
 
i was just about to make this same thread. a couple ads here and there for revenue is ok, but this has gone too far. those noises drive me fucking crazy and the seizure flashing doesnt help either. take em out!

If theres one thing I hate, I HATE sound ads, SO much. and any of those ads that say "click here to be scared" or some shit. ski company advertisements and college advertisements are alright, but dont let NS become a pit like the rest of the internet!
 
it just happened to me, and if NS really needs money in order to continue by using adds, im sure if they re-open the donations, then theyll be fine
 
jesus christ... I had to close firefox like 5 times today because I couldn't figure out what was making the beeping noise, until i finally found out it was an add. fucking annoying as hell
 
i was gonna make this thread earlier.
nothing wrong with adds, they're what keep the website running, but the beeping is extremely annoying
 
fuck the ads in the top and fuck the ones with sound even more this shit is soo annoying. i dont want to hear some bullshit windows "sorry you cant do that" stupid ass sound. and the chirping shit is even worse
 
yeah, a lot of the ads are totally useless to have on NS since I'm pretty sure they pay per-click and no one on here is clicking on any of those ads. i hate 'em.

I was just watching an embeded video in a thread, and the beeping pissed me off so much I couldn't finish the video. GET RID OF IT!!

i figured there'd be a thread on this so i checked before i posted, but fuck those beeping ads, that's the kind of shit you see on trashy porn sites, if ns is forced to include ads to keep everything running, so be it, but please be a bit more selective in what is placed on this site
 
ok, so there is an ad beeping while im typing this right now. a few minutes ago a lady came on and started talking about laptops for a least two minutes. this shit is fucking rediculous. plus i always have music on when im on the comp. ill be leaving ns until they are either gone, or silent.
 
this advertising is getting so fucking annoying, this is like the 8th incident in the past couple of months, this site is doing what we do on skis
 
well this is fun.... i just got the shit scared out of me because of that fucking beep while i was blasting music...wtf NS??? i didnt think the ads would go this far....but i was wrong..not cool.
