Sort thread search by category?

Yeah. Realized I can somewhat reliably google search threads, but being able to filter only NS threads of a specific category would be nice. For example, if I wanted to search for threads about a specific piece of equipment, I would likely get a lot of threads where it was mentioned, but not the primary subject. If I could filter specifically to gear talk (or multiple categories at once), it would be a lot easier to find what I'm looking for.

Yeah i get what you're saying, but picking a specific section wouldn't necessarily be easier, google pulls all terms you search so it kind of eliminates the need for categories of search. Also, there are tons of gear threads in SG, we try to move them all but we never get them all.
