You won't notice much of a change with what we just did, its super backend but gives us way bigger bandwidth capacity and stability.
Its like if you were building a racecar. At some point you swap out the engine for something thats ten times as badass. Still looks like the same car, and it won't even be faster until you replace the transmission, axles, wheels and body. But, once you've replaced all the pieces, you'll have the baddest-ass car out there.
Nope - servers are located in California actually, so we see it just like you guys do.
Hah and thanks on the analogies... but I come up with them talking to Paul. Its all I can do to actually understand what the fuck is happening behind the scenes.
NS has graciously been given new boxes by our new parent company, so we moved the site to their private data centre! The new boxes are bigger, faster with more storage space, ram and horsepower.
So the site itself hasn't changed yet, other than moving to it's new more badass home in LA
The NS site is currently hosted on a WEB/DB server pair, with additional media servers.
