i dunno, looks pretty cool, depends on how well it matches up to gameboy advanced, really though i have no need for a handheld gaming thing, i just play ps2

For Starters, why would you ever compare a portable console to a non-portable such as the Xbox. The xbox has of course more power under the hood and larger storage capacity on its medium (It can use DVDs instead of small discs or small cartrages). Not to mention it should have better developer support (although Xbox has pretty bad developer support).

I don't think the PSP will be nearly as sucessful as the Gameboy Advance (or SP) because it lacks backwards compatibility (although it was thought to be initially with PSOne games) and the PSP and games should be more expensive. We will see what happens though, Sony does have a large following.

heheheh a non-cartridge based handheld...hmmm, i think it's going to be prohibitively expensive and prone to major malfunctions.

AND, nobody can touch nintend on portable. SNK tried, sega tried (both out of business now...well, sega hardware is), the only thing that is even close to the caliber of the BGA is the GP32 in japan.

Don't forget NeoGeo, they tried to make a portable too.

You NEED cartridges for a portable. They have to be able to take a bit of abuse becaues people keep them in bags, pockets, etc. A disc system really can't take any punishment not to mention the discs themselves scratch.

it said that it plays better games than ps1 but not on par with ps2. and it's gonna be using a mini disk cartage thing so i am pretty sure it's not going to be backward compatible. it does have a port for connecting the psp to ps3, psx and maybe ps2 like gba. i believe you can dl stuff onto the disk right on the psp. everything sounds like a mini ps2 but portable. here's a question for thought, what is going to power such device? a mini nuke-reactor? it probally gonna drain a normal battery in no time.

^ i probally don't but it just my opinion. i might have exaggerated it a bit, but my point is they might loose a lot of money with the n-gage.

nokia created that phone just because it could. you know, to show how the tech is. the size and price will come down. then it will be a hit. the same dang thing has happened with every kind of technology the past decade. something big and expensive but at the same time very progressive will eventually be smaller and cheaper...

I don't see how something like the N-gage could bring down such a huge company as Nokia. They aren't putting a huge portion of their profits on either R&D, production or Marketing. You really have no idea how much a company like that makes. A single product failure can't ruin it.
