i got a sony vaio r-series over the summer when it first came out and it is so sick. it works great as a normal computer, i do a lot of video editing and media shit. PLUS you can watch TV and record TV and all of that kinda stuff. definetly happy with it, and worth the investment.

its a good comp and thats a pretty good price. only thing is that in moniter is sorta bad. when i got mine, a couple of the pixel things didn't work but i just returned it a got a new one and now its fine. u should get it

If you know how to...build your own desktop. You can get something like that for about half the price.

I just build a SATA Raid 5 3x250Gig, 3 Ghz HT P4 2Mb L2 cache, 1 gig paired dual channel ddr, raid 1 SATA 120 gig (OS disk), 520 watt power supply, gigabit, 128 meg video server for work for around $1400. Purchased from a retailer...it would've amounted to about $3500.

-------------------
2 billion dollars...sir, I'd handle my grandpa's balls for 2 billion dollars.

i followed but i dont know enough about whats compatible/how to hook it all up properly without frying everything.

btw why do u need 750gb eh?

i find it hard to believe that you made that kind of PC for so little. like, where did you get all that stuff for so cheap?

anyways...the Sony VAIO you're getting is pretty sick. i have several friends that have VAIO's (your model and another) and they all love em...except for one, cause he's a gamer and he says it doesn't perform well for his gaming purposes.

For media stuff in a PC, the VAIO's are definitely top notch. my friends who edit say it aint as good as an Apple but it certainly performs very well for a PC.
