So they are charging 2k for a fancy ass mictjat I don't even know what it's called and a lens mount on a regular old handycam? An treating users with the delight of 60i.....

Everything except sony's ex line of cameras basically suck.

exactly, what the hell? They manage to come so close, yet so far. 60i is blowing it. and I'm severely confused as when looking through the specs i read this "*Image Sensor Captured at 30p (29.97p), Recorded in AVCHD 60i (59.94i) format". The hell? Why would to take something that natively captures at 30p, and then record it in 60i, without even giving a progressive option. Blowing it sony.
 
Panny's AF100 will blow this thing out of the water as the first "good" interchangeable lens camcorder.

That being said, we'll see how this goes - I'm not impressed by any means, but I'm interested to see how the footage turns out.
 
oh yea, I totally forgot about their line of video cameras......

Teh D5393s shoots raw 5k at adjustable framerates 1-9001, does not suffer from rolling shutter, has a built in glidecam and just undercuts the t2i at $700 with a 1-1000mm macro tiltshift fisheye kit lens
 
Triple the cost. You can't compare the two cameras. The footage looks like it's pretty good. Shallow DOF looks good no matter what camera it's filmed on (exaggeration).
 
Of course you can, they're in the same class of camcorder! They're both that new, interchangeable lens shit, and one is clearly much better than the other. They're both new, but only one is "good."

All cost aside, I bet Sony could've put in that 24p and still kept the cost down - then I wouldn't be bitching.

These cameras are going to be a huge step forward, but can someone let me know the difference between what DSLR's can shoot now? Is the sensor going to be better in these cameras?

I really like it though, but will they also be able to film without the lenes on them? I'm just thinking that I love my T2i, but it sucks when I'm trying to run and gun shoot. Having a separate camera like an hvx would be awesome.
 
I know the pani one is a 4/3 sensor, little different. They will have the video functions that the hddslrs lack and thats a HUGE difference.
