Sony Action Cam Headband Mount

For all you action cam users....is this the optimal mount for POV footage skiing? Been having some trouble. Tried mounting it to the top as well pointing down which worked ok but didn't get enough ski in my pictures. Thinking about buying the headband mount...I looked at the TGR footage/pictures and it seems all those guys are using it for their POV

Side mount is the way to go. I mount it to the side of my helmet because my goggle band flops around too much, I don't know how the TGR guys get it to stay so steady. Also the headband mount I found in the store was not the same one they use, it's way bulkier.

Also you can try turning the SteadyShot feature off, it gives you a way wider POV angle, but your footage will come out shakier (obviously)

They make a goggle mount that looks like a "chip clip" it just clips to your goggle strap and I wear it under my helmet. Works awesome and super quick to take off and get back on/clean the lens or whatever easily.

Thanks! Huge fan btw. I picked up the headband mount but may return for the clip.

If you take it out of the case, the mini is about the exact width of a goggle strap, I just use some gaff tape and tape it right to the strap. No mount necessary and really low profile. Might not work that well if you run your goggles under your helmet, but good for skiing in a hat or on the outside of a helmet.

Thanks! Met y'all at the TGR event in NYC a few weeks back....sick movie. I will definitely try out the clip and the tape and see how they work. I use a helmet with straps on the outside so maybe ill try to the tape and tie a little leash to it incase it falls off.

I would just like to let you know that i cannot believe you are a pro, largely because i am waaaaaay better than you.

When obama raised the terrorist threat level, it was because i was stomping cliffs so hard that it was mistaken for a terrorist bomb attack. True story.
