Some serious shin bang

Ok so I got a mad case of shin bang. I can barley put my boots on. I've missed 4 days SO FAR of skiing over Christmas break. I need to ski soon! I was wondering if there are any tips for curing this while at home. Not tips for what I can do while skiing cause I haven't been skiing because of the pain. Thanks!

save yourself a ton of money... and dont buy full tilts. im sad to say ive been there and done that... go to a GOOD bootfitter, and get a boot that fits you well. do not just buy fulltilts, as i tried that and still got shinbang and toe bang. GO TO A BOOTFITTER

you get shin bang because your shin is hitting the front of your boots over and over. This is either from your boots being not buckled, too tight, or your flex being too high. Ice your shins to get rid of the bruise and take some advil before you ski.

Ice your shins? Once the pain dies down a bit, roll your shins on a rolled up yoga mat or even a tennis ball. Should get you back on to the hill in a couple days. Skiing with bad shin bang only makes it worse.

If you can't get yourself to a boot fitter, try at least putting the velcro strap around the boot liner (not the shell) that alone saved me so much pain back in the day. Also check out booster straps.

But seriously, you don't get shin bang if your boots fit. You can still get shin bang with Full Tilts (or any 3 piece boot) just the same if they don't fit. Get yourself to a boot fitter son.

Not sure about making it heal faster, maybe hot or cold? To prevent it in the future, wear good boots that fit right. Go to a bootfitter if you haven't. Wearing boots too big for you = almost guaranteed shin bang. If you haven't been to a bootfitter, your boots are very likely too big (it's an extremely common mistake, and most people don't even realize it).

Not true. Shinbang is from landing backseat/ shitty fitting boots that strains the muscle in the front of your shin. Which makes it feel like your shins hurt. Not from hitting your shins on the front of your boots.

People often try to lesson the pain by skiing backseat and keeping the weight off their shins, but it just makes it worse.

life saver right here.

before i went to a bootfitter my bang was out of control like black shin level shit. but these babes were able to get me through the trip and hold me over until i could buy new boots. seriously they're some magic level joints.

also do not land backseat.

Good call, you're totally right. You should upload a picture of your insoles and liners so everyone can see the differences between custom insoles and liners, versus what comes with your boot.

get your boots as tight as possible once your shin bang heals. or just buy some better boots, but make sure theyre tight or they wont do their job

no, bad skiing technique plays a big role into shin bag. you're supposed to be pressed against the front of those motherfuckers like no tomorrow.
