Some Info on the New Pats Park...

I don't have too much new stuff, but I have confirmed it will be accessed by rope tow and be somewhere near the vortex lift, the middle of the mountain. The park will be the new expert, which should prevent gaper access from the small chairlifts and Turbulence will the mid-level. Anybody else who has info on the park, please post. Oh, and planned opening day is December 5th.

everything you have said is accurate. there is also plans for a good size jump or two as the slope is much steeper than turbulance. i hiked up it today and there is quite a good amount a space for a jump or two and a bunch of rails. they had dug out the base area to put in the tow rope but it still isn't up yet.

well it sounds smaller with it probably only having two kickers and also using a tow rope for it it wouldnt be bigger than the turbulence park and have a tow rope to go up and down it thats just dumb. but pats would be dumb enough to do that

its not as long a turbulance but it will be a more advanced park. the terrain is a lot steeper which means they can build bigger jumps and after them there is enough room for maybe like 6 to 8 rails or whatever

sounds good but knowing pats they will fuck up the jumps and the rails will suck, but ill be ther when i go home

pats is pretty much a joke for parks in nh, they cant build their jumps right either you land in flat or hit the knuckle. only thing they do right is some rails and the stair set.

I was wondering why that mound was there on Sunday. I used to ski there but have since moved on to bigger and better. Still really cool though.

9 times out of 10 if your knuckling a jump or landing on the flat your sizing up the hit all wrong and the other 10% of the time people aren't scoping out the feature before they hit. Then you have gapers flailing through the air on rental skis exploding onto the flat with mom coming around the corner all mad.

I disagree, I think the Pat's (i.e. Phil and company) does a bang up job with the funding and resources the're given. Which isn't much because Pat's Peak will always stay a "family oriented" mountain. That has always been there focus for people on vacation.... not park.... unfortunately.

The fact that the're puting money into a new park is a suprise to me to be honest.

phil is a god damn moron and im not afraid to say it to his face.

he has yelled at me for speed checking jumps and the more when i planted my pole while i was getting down. he once let me hit a wall first before anyone else... he said it was done and then my tip went under the plastic the was not properly attatched tho the wood ( it made them start to delaminate). i told him that it would be nice to have a flat rail in the park... simple request Right?... nope! ....he said it would take too long. me and my friends said we would set it up and he could even have one park crew member help to suppervise. he just said theat there wasn't room and walked away... there were only 4 features in the park. he set up a new box fresh new plastic. i got 2nd hit.... scew sticking up = core shot. "oh sorry i guess i didnt screw that one all the way in" said phil.

he wont let skiers into the rail jam?!? whats the reason for that i asked. he said there were no prises. i asked if i could just run it and not win anything. he said no. not even if i got the form signed

yeah that is fucked up and sounds shady. I've never had problems with him while i worked there. he would often go out of his way for me. I can level with ya about the long flat rail. I was hoping they would put it in cause all they had was the 1 in the mini prk

But you have to understand that everything park related at any mountain revolves around liability. They pay huge amounts of money to insurance companies to keep their parks in the contract. I'm sure Chad would love to have 100 kids running around helping to put in hits and shit, but it can't happen because the're not legitimate employees.

At any rate... why do you continue to go there? Crotchet's park is 50 times better and the're 25 min away or less.

which school program? I'm going midweek this winter, but can't start until around jan. to feb because of knee surgery. Who knows about the park? I have been disappointed, but a lot can change in a season (ahem Mt Snow anyone?). This could be the breakout year for Pats, so haters can save it. we know its not great, but its what we have here, not at crotchet or loon.

word is "nitro" will be open at mountt snow not this w/e but the w/e after.... I'll definately be there

maybe it will look like this????

that'd be dope. it was so smooth last year (nitro). i feel too feel like this could maybe be a breakout year at pats, and i might be there midweek as well.

i'm sticking with waterville every year their big 3 kicker line is amazing and their stair set is my second favorite in nh next to the stair at the darkside park up at cranmore
