Some Hucks

Might as well post this here to spread the stoke. Some stuff from Dodge Ridge yesterday--deep pow and short lines, considering the holiday. My neck hurts though.

I honestly wouldn't see this as a big deal if it didn't happen alllll the fucking time on NS. So you have to huck 50ft cliffs and throw cork 10s to post anything on this website without getting shitted on? I know this happens everyday on NS, but sometimes it just gets annoying when you see it so often. Nobody can just be stoked for someone anymore, it's all so fucking superficial.

Here comes the "why so serious" shit, but really think about it. It's really upsetting to see what NS has turned into. A bunch of shitheads bickering that something they probably could never land is not good enough. Fucking depressing.

no you dont but if you are gonna post a video in the "ski gabber" forum instead of the video section, it better be a banger!

and guess what? this wasnt!

As long as everybody is having fun, I don't see what anyone can complain about. But some people are immature, and you just have to ignore them.

I understand what you mean, but all I have to do is point to the shithead above you to make my point. It just seems like there are a lot more people like that lately, and less people who love skiing for the sake of skiing. If you don't get excited even when you see some stoked little kid land a simple 3 for the first time, then what the fuck is the point of skiing.

Maybe I am going on a stupid rant, but I really don't think I am alone in seeing this trend.

Totally agreed. This is a ski COMMUNITY. Rather than hate, give him some pointers on how to land better.

Y'all are assholes.

skiing is fun. i really couldnt care less what other folks are doing as long as it doesnt ruin the fun i am having. Skiing is a very narcicistic sport by nature.

Get off your high horse.

Thirty feet, fuckhead. Would you like me to list the ways I'm better than you? It's pretty long. But I'm not a douche, so I needn't go there. Prevalent reminders of why I stick to TGR, and why TGR loathes a good 3/4 of NS.
For comparison:

FYI in the last 10 years I've skied an average of 5 days a season. How many people jump cliffs that size? Ok, now how many of those ski more in one month than I have in my entire life?
Also @ californiagrown, skiing is not a narcissistic sport--it shouldn't be, anyway. I always say I do it for myself, you can watch if you want. However, it is full of narcissists, the majority of whom are on this forum. GNAR was invented to mock the outsiders' consensus that expert and pro skiers are totally egocentric assholes.
With the typical NS bickering bullshit out of the way, I should add that I am quite aware the landing is total shit--expected, since it's flat as Nebraska. Nobody jumps that rock, ever, for that reason. But I've been looking at that thing since I was 9 thinking about how I was going to jump it, so now it's done. That was probably the worst landing I've ever pulled--way too far forward, especially for something with no downslope. Next season I'll do a double front off the Monster to shut you fucks up. Thanks to the intelligent half of NS for the interest.

I just wanted to come in here and say that I landed a way bigger cliff before I broke my leg later that day.

haha TGR is a thousand times worse, go ahead post your video over there then get back to us. Or maybe skinet, or snowbuddies or whatever other bullshit ski site you visit. For the record, 4/3rds of NS doesn't give a fuck.

unless that dude is 8ft. tall, that cliff is only about 20ft. and that's being generous. for someone who's only been skiing for 10 years, you sure can't size up cliffs and are a cocky ass. if someone overestimates a cliff size, most likely they suck at skiing and this video is just proof of that.

I did and it was quite well-received. I have more posts there, though. Over there, posters are not totally full of themselves.
@ectreeskier11: That's awesome, I didn't know he could walk properly yet.
@bryansbryan: I've been skiing for 16 years, and I'm 20. I averaged the last 10. Also, estimating size has zero relevance to skiing ability. That's a poorly compiled argument.

overestimating cliff size is a sign you don't have much experience. the number of ski days has no revelance to ability because you could spend 90% of those days on groomers or straight sliding boxes... which it appears you do. you don't want people ripping apart your shitty video? don't post it in a public forum.

I'll give a tolerance of +/- 5 feet (agreeably, probably in the negative.) You underestimated by 10-15.
Saying the number of ski days has no relevance to ability is not only entirely false, but it also implies that you just might suck even though you imply that you ski more than me.
And yes, there were lots of groomers and straight boxes in the video. Thank you for cunting up this thread.

i tried defending you at first but you proved yoruself to be a cocky asshole. watching you ski the inruns into the drop showed me you have no technique. skiing more would get you more technique (hopefully,) which would get you less flack for posting this video. also, try to post videos where you actually land more than once.

being able to huck yourself off a cliff and not land it does not equal being good.

Thank you!

And on a serious note, my cliff huck was way better.

I'm just going to mention that 30ft is the same as the 10M diving board at the pool. I give that reference to people who claim they dropped "30ft" cliffs in zones that have nothing bigger than 15ft.

I'd give you're "huck" 20ft give or take.

nah dude, this shit is one of the many reasons skiing fucking sucks. nobody is stoked on anybody. the best skateboarder at my local park gets stoked for a kid the first time he lands a kickflip, cause he knows how hard that used to be for him, and that everybody starts somewhere. if more skiers had that attitude this sport wouldnt be so wack.

See, the problem with this forum is that every other post is a bunch of egocentric dick-swinging. I'm not the best skier in here--far from it, probably, so you can be assured that my post isn't an attempt to show how fukn core I am like half the people here. I'm on the defense, breh. Also appreciate your first post.
