People seem to not have read the original post. This is a thread about smoking in the lift line, not on the lift. Nobody gives a shit about that, lift lines are a bunch of people in close proximity and if you smoke there, then you sir/madam are a douchebag. Stop being such cock-monkeys.
 
i think people are missing the point of this thread. Its just the fact the lady was being a cunt to someone who was trying to reason w/ her.
 
i got yelled at for smoking on the lift sept it was a bowl and the guy yelling was a patroller im suprized he never found me im the only kid an my tiny ass hill with a full neon green sute and florsint invaders i geuss it was just a good day
 
Fortunately i've just quit smoking, so now i hold a different view on this..

When i used to smoke, I would smoke on chairlifts. (HOWEVER, i would always ask those on the lift if they had a problem with me smoking, if so then i wouldn't light one up.)

I can certainly understand not smoking on lifts now. THe air is fresh up in the mountains and to fuck up the air like that isn't cool. Especially in a lift queue.
 
Scientists also somehow manage to estimate that smoking herb gives you cancer and makes you shoot people. And tobacco research is seriously biased for or againsts and you can't really trust the info coming out of either side.

EC is dope and dubsman is a bitch and sounds like a 15 year old lol. I'm going to go smoke a cigarette now. All yall are bitches. I'm going to smoke extra hard next time I go skiing because of this thread.

At my mountain all of the lifties smoke, so everyone has to fucking breathe the smoke from their nasty habit. It gets me so pissed.
 
i'm just going to reiterate what other people have said pretty much, but basically, if it's a rule at vail to not smoke, and you had been politely asked to stop multiple times, then you fucking stop. or not even start in the first place. was it wrong to call her a bitch? maybe, but the fact of the matter is, not only did she break the rules at vail, she disrespected the lifties and the other people in her chair. if you're going to smoke, do it away from other people, caus nobody wants ciggarette smoke blown in their face.

how can you even begin to compare murder to smoking in the lift lines or on the lift.

smoking in the trees would put the smoke at a closer proximity to others than on the lift.
 
My question is why do you smoke? Its probably one of the most disgusting things i have seen.
I just want to hear what a smoker says on why he smokes.

Haha maybe not yet, but they are defiantly becoming second class citizens in the U.S. Look around at all the smoking bans that have been put in place as of late. Its getting weeded out of society.

Personally, if I see somebody smoking (cigarettes) I assume that they are unintelligent unless they prove otherwise. Im sorry that probably sounds concieted but thats my first reaction. You have got to be retarted to pay large amounts of money for a product that is going to dimenish the quality of yours and other's live's. Its pretty funny, I go to a fairly good college and I would say that less than 5% of people smoke cigarettes. But at the factory that I worked at during the summer that is full of people barely making a living and going nowhere fast, I would say that 90% of the people smoke. Its pretty easy to see the relationship.

And responding to the thread topic, people that smoke in public in genaral pisses me off. If they're doing it in their home I could care less, but to subject other people to unwanted smoke is unexcusable.
 
if you read his and my post, you will see that he said cops dont give tickets from going a 1mph over, and so his logic is your not going to get in trouble for smoking. so i said if its ok to just bend rules, whats next? murder?

and how would smoking in trees be worse? your away from people, maybe some smoke finds its way out to the trail and you get one wiff of it as you pass. on a lift, you blow your smoke and the people behind you are forced to go right through it, and every time you blow your smoke, they have to go through it again
 
well. I started smoking around 7 or so years ago... maybe 8. My main group of friends was made up of mostly smokers. My two closest friends always smoked together, until one of them joined the US Army and got sent off to Iraq. Being the good friend that I was, I decided to see what smoking was all about. In the past I had taken the odd puff from a cigg to get that extra head rush after smoking some weed, and I was somewhat comfortable about the whole situation. So yea... smoked some ciggs, liked the high I got from it, kept smoking them. I first told myself "when the high goes away I'll stop smoking", but when the high went away, I still felt like a smoke... Oh shit, I was addicted.
That is how and why I started smoking. At that point, I told myself that in 5 years I must quit smoking... and I have dabbled in quitting a couple times. I plant trees in the summer as my occupation, and the two go very good together. So even though I've managed to have three winters smoke free I always end up smoking again in the summer. Right now the thoughts of quitting are in my head, but there is no real drive to succeed right now, and it's not worth the stress in my life right now to try.
I could get into the reasons as to why I enjoy smoking today... but I'm not sure if that is the best place for that.
 
but its true, if your dumb enough to start smoking then you are a second class citizen. its called survival of the fittest, let the dumb people die of their own stupidity while the rest of us keep living the dream.
 
I like how you just wrote off millions of human beings as unintelligent because they think a plant tastes good and then misused and misspelled the word conceited in the next line.

Before this thread I always thought hating on smokers was really just for whiny straight edge fags and soccer moms but I guess real people are douchebags too.

And for whoever asked why people smoke, as a little kid I can remember watching Independence Day as a kid and when Will Smith and the guy from Jurassic park lit up cigars at the end of the movie I already pretty much knew I would grow up to smoke. Started at around 15, a couple of my friends smoked so I asked for one. Most people say they hate their first cigarette but I didn't. I thought it was probably one of the most delicious things I had ever tasted, and actually smoked for a couple weeks without even inhaling because I like how they taste so much. I also sort of have an oral fixation and chew on shit all the time so it satisfies that as well. Then smoking actually got me laid a couple times at around 17 by other smokers so I was like god damn! Shit's way addicting and I haven't really found a good reason to quit yet. Plus I drink alot and its really hard to not smoke when you're drinking. Plus I smoke ganja and there's nothing like a cigarette after a bowl, its like icing on a cake. I've never attempted to quit and I don't think I will until I have a kid. I don't understand how people can smoke around their own kids, I won't even smoke around other people's kids. So yeah until then I fully enjoy spending my time in flavor country. Oh, also basically everyone I know smokes so that doesn't help much.

Apparently we're some kind of dangerous minority or something now, I didn't get the memo but I don't really give a fuck about what people think of me anyway. I'm sure no one talking shit in this thread would actually say what they're saying to a smoker's face, and if they would then they need to seriously reevaluate their personality and they deserve to catch a beatdown. No one yells at you for being fat, or ugly, or short, so just leave fucking smokers alone.

I agree that the chick was being a bitch by not puting her smoke out after being asked to repeatedly though. If it was me I would have done the polite thing and put it out and apoligized, and then lit it up again on the chair.

No these people were stupid, Im not just saying that because they worked in a factory. They're good people but they're stupid. One guy literally thought that according to the theory of evolution humans were born monkeys and grew into humans as they got older.
 
Apparently all the anti-smoking campaigning really paid off. I think its hilariously ironic that every thread about smoking marijuana becomes a "JEA JEA JEA bluntz4EVAH" fest where a thread about smoking cigs becomes a public health bulletin.

FWIW I've never smoked a cigarette in my life.
 
yesterday at sunpeaks one of the L jumps (like 30ft) I did a 180 and upon landing my ski popped off but I didnt fall and unclipped my right ski to get my other one. some fucking snowboarder ran over my fucking ski and i was pissed. after yelling "what the fuck" she and her friend raced the rest of the way down the park. my ski is fine but I was pissed anyways

there is a large step between smoking/ driving 1mph over the speed limit and murder. it takes a huge step to do that, you are preaching pure radicalism. you sound like some scared radical trying to impose his ideas on the masses. are you going to drink the kool-aid so you can escape the terrible smokers?

smoking in the trees, how far are these people into the trees. first off no smoker would go into the trees to have a smoke, the only thing you smoke in the trees are trees so first off the trees is a terrible example. second off how far do you think these smokers would travel into the trees, they probably wouldnt go more than a few feet past the edge of the run. on the lift you are 30+ feet away from the next closest chair and wind is blowing by causing pretty much any exhaust to blow away from the next chair.

grow the fuck up kid, its smoking deal with it. smokers arent anymore likely to be a douche bag than you or me, and if they smoke in inappropriate areas where they are in close proximity to others who are not smoking, then they are an ass. but smoking on the lift is not one of those places. you are at least 30ft away from the person behind you and there is always wind which blows the smoke away causing very little smoke inhalation for other riders. smoking in the lift line is fucked up, but not on the lift.

have you ever skied by a snow cat? have you noticed all the exhaust coming off of it? have you ever been by camp fire? have you noticed all of the smoke billowing into your face? have you ever smoked weed? have you ever been stuck in traffic on the freeway? have you ever been in a city? im sure you can answer yes to all of those, so why are you getting so butt hurt over a smoker 30-50 feet in front of you up on a breezy lift.

seriously all of these negative posts being assholes to smokers are probably all under 16.

I agree that smoking alone doesn't make people dumb, being dumb makes them dumb. I was just observing that a majority of the people that are dumb also happen to smoke cigarettes and vice-versa.

And the fact that cars and snowcats produce exhaust should not justify smoking. It's totally unnecessary and preventable and the public should not have to put up with it just so the minority can enjoy their habit.

seems to me that this thread is just startin to piss people off more and more or at least get some what aggravated.

i dont think all this tension or stress is good on a body either...People can make there own decisions in life good or bad and other people cannot make those decisions for them. So obviously no one is going to change each others minds from these posts because if that was ever going to happen this thread would be done and ended.

Just let everyone do their own thing and let whatever that is, affect them later in life. Problem solved.

I don't even know where to start with this. First of all the emissions from snow cats aren't even in the same ball park as cigarette smoke as far as amount of pollutants. Second, only the people that take part in skiing/snowboarding have to put up with the dreaded snow cat emissions unlike cigarette smokers who's smoke effects everybody around them regardless if they smoke or not. (I know what your gonna say, 'it still pollutes the environment for everybody' but that's not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about getting physical smoke blown into my face.) And its not like im in the lift line with a snow cat or skiing behind one, they are pretty much are out of the way. You can call me ignorant all you want at least im not the one who accepts breathing in absolute shit just because a few people feel the need to smoke.
