Soloshot for skiing, thoghts?

I would like to see how it works. Hard to find patient people to film. They aren't always as committed to getting the trick perfect like you are. Would look better than a stationary tripod shot anyway

Thought about backing it on kickstarter a while back, decided I'd be better off with other equipment.

It looks like you put a transmitter on your body and then the tripod head picks up a radio signal and follows you.... pretty dang cool idea

Just padlock it? Possibly an alarm if motion is sensed, or even better an electric shock. But really you could just padlock it.

What annoys me about this idea is I actually thought of it before it came out, didn't think it'd be so simple though.

Padlock:

Also what are you going to padlock?

The tripod? I can still screw off your camera and an electric shock doesn't seem that wise when talking about sensitive equipment.

Alarm could be annoying but I'll be long gone when you have crawled out of the ocean.

Padlock to camera(strap mounts possibly), to tripod to something attached to the ground.

Obviously it's beatable but you'd hope nobody would have bolt cutters.

Possibly an electric fence then?(must be enough to electrocute)

The main difficulty is protecting somebody from stealing the lens.

Of course nobody would ever do this haha, but where I live people rarely steal shit, never had anything stolen

Now what if you attached this to a steady cam and follow cam'ed with it. Then you can see where your going and keep up while your getting the shot.

Pan speed is way too slow for something like that, can't remember the exact speed but its like 30/40 degrees a second

cool idea, saw it on kickstarter, but for that price, there are other things I would get first if I even had that much to spend haha

i'm thinking ski resorts could monetize this pretty easily, mount some to lift towers and rent out the arm bands. It woud be sick to be able to watch your last run on your phone as you ride up the lifts.
