I usually go to Snowbird or PC, but if it has snowed in BCC in the past week there will still be freshies at Solitude. Its the place to be if you don't want to deal with crowds. Its not supposed to snow any time soon, so it might not be so great...and theres not a park either.
Its ok, the backcountry is sick there...fantasy ridge to silver fork...but the avalanche danger has been ridiculous lately here. If there aren't freshies, I'd like to be at a resort that has a park for some variety, but Solitude is a good natural terrain park. You consider skiing anywhere else?
not really casue were getting a condo at solitude regardless, liek mayvbe well go to alta, but i mean is solitude still gonna be sick tho, is the sno soft enough so i can still make a bc kicker and jump cliffs ad stuff?
just be careful backcountry and make sure you're not out there ready to be saved by your cell phone. brighton is up the road and has fun rails (at least last year they did). unless it snows soon, don't expect anything amazing...although we've gotten over 300' so far this season
the report isnt lookin so good, but will the snow below the clifs be reasonably soft? im not goin out west for park, i get that at stratton, im going for everything else
if the temps are warm during the day (which they have been) its soft, but at night it freezes over and it gets super hard...we call that hardpack, i think you've heard of it. look out for death cookies. backcountry booters would be good-go across from alta or up grizz. i gotta go work...
