Sparknotes: Im looking for the SOFTEST, BUTTERIEST 100% PARK ski I can find that will maintain the top sheet decently well.

Hey Im looking at getting new skis, I live EAST COAST (Ontario) and Im 19, weighing 130. Im about 5'10 and I like to think Im a pretty advanced skier. Id prefer cheap as possible but Id like to keep all my options open. Im looking for the SOFTEST, BUTTERIEST 100% PARK ski I can find, that will maintain the top sheet decently well. I currently ski afterbangs, but the bases have been shredded to pieces due to urban. Ive looked at older invaders but there's soo many options I would love to hear some of your opinions. Thank yeah Thank yeah NS!

urban punx

invaders

old fujatives

probably the softest out there, but theyre not produced anymore so ull have to find used ones or some shops that didnt sell them yet.

the joystic/faction collab ski? if i remember correct is marketed as a minijib ski, so def. on the soft side. but its a next years ski so ull have trouble getting your hands on a pair. they havent told us much bout the ski just yet. its cruisin round somewhere in the 2012 gear thread

Anthems or Invaders. They're super cheap if you find them online. My invaders from 09 are complete noodles now and intact after almost three years of destruction. I can butter anything with them, so much fun.

its all about double flips, giant fucking jumps, and 630's out bro. cant afterbang backseat on soft skis doing those tricks....so this is what happens. the skis industry pusses out has stopped making super soft skis.

the only sorta soft skis made now are some unsymmetrical ski w/ a 21m turn radius, fucking boring, i gotta be hauling ass to carve. not to mention they're made w cap construction or some other shitty method and hold up for about 30 days. sorta the equivalent of capita snowboards. yes im talking to you k2, atomic, and sorta line

sorry im super bitter about it. i have some hope for the new bacons, but we will see.

try K2 disorderly. I have them and they're soft. softer than ar6 and chronics which although described as stiffer skis aren't that stiff. mine are noodly thats for sure.

Well the afterbangs are soft and durable no cap or any of that shit. But i am totally with you on the rest of that the egde blows off your ski know and its "just a normal problem"

Thanks everyone for awesome suggestions. Ive been scouring the interwebs looking for a pair of '08 anthems. I'm considering getting '09 Anthems, but my hearts set on '08.

Just looked at the Reno Jib, got stoked on it, but apparently its on the stiffer side of things.

k2 fujative (not that kung fujas crap)

do not let people tell you otherwise. i swear to god those things were like sloppy noodles

Whoa those actually look unbelievable. I'm just a little wary of the all-terrain label they have as I ride 100% park. Although I'm sure that doesn't mean they don't just slay park. Any other opinions of the masterminds?

Fugatives are the best, i have the 08 ones (the last year they made them) and they are great. Topsheet is kinda soft but bases hold up well and they are pretty damn buttery

they just say all mountain b/c there a TINY bit off symetrical, but they do have semitric flex so they can be used for all park and be mounted center.

i dont see why somone would get that ski just for all mountain, its soft and wouldnt hold up super well on groomers at high speeds (but still stiffer then the invader, from what i hear)

I feel you, i really miss the playful skis you could just screw around on. as for construction, i haven't had any problems personally.

Softest ski i ever tried was the 2011 k2 press. They are cheap and they are rockered, so their super fun. Te only thing is they chatter alot because.

bring back the anthems and lizzies, make the kung fujas symmetrical, and have armada make the arv not so damn boring and we'd have some winners

line lizziesline afterbangline invaderline anthemk2 domain (mid flex but rocker makes it super buttery)atomic urban punxburton hyphy sticks are super soft, but they are really hard to find

Afterbang definitely the softest I've ski'd on. Anthems are for sure stiffer, if you want a really really soft ski look into some of the Head ski's.

I haven't tried any of them out but they're fairly soft if you go for the lower end models, although the flex is similar to an afterbang new... (Blueberry Lemon i think?)

Hellbents

not totally serious, but I live on the east coast and ride mine in the park all the time and they are super buttery and fun. And I can shred pow

Line Elizbeths. They've been discontinued for a few years, but you can still buy them flat and new. Imagine a 172 EPP with no rocker— the core is actually made of butter. They're pretty fat, too (110 underfoot) which makes them altogether more playful, in my opinion. I've always found fat skis to be more playful. Also, Garrett Russell has a pair. Search "day in the life of Garrett Russell" on vimeo and you'll see him riding 'em.

I lied, they were just discontinued this year. And there's a fantastic deal on Evo right now- they're $400 but you can get 'em for 40% off with the code "forty". Which makes them cost you $240 brand spankin' new.

sorry to burst your bubble, but that deal is on the original cost, so 800. but then in the deatails for the deal it says does not count on items already 40% off or more. and those are 50% off.
