no thin good ski socks are the best, if your socks are to big or you wear two pairs it cuts off circulation making your feet real cold

the trick is to put two sox that are not the same size, no burns then and when there is space between the sox, air can move so it is warmer...

I got some bad shin burn last year. I think I'll try that instead of one thin sock.

at the end of last year i just wore 1 pair of medium-thick socks and stuck sponges in my boots so i didnt get shin burn.

Foam-Rubber is good. Really squishy/absorbant stuff. I use it for padding the electronics in my R/C airplane. Receiver and battery were fine after a full throttle, straight down, noseplant (60mph into HARD dirt).

uyeah smart wool is cool. its wierd i only got shin burn at camp and wore off most of my lg hair in a spot. hah it was wierd i never get it in witner and had the same boots and socks. if you use to think of socks ait will cut off circulation and you feet will be colder than with thin ones. it changes with how good you boots are insulated too.

 
just use that hot rub cream stuff. it keeps your feet warm all day. well, it keeps my hands warm in lacrosse.

i dont know what chin bang is because ive never had it, i just get really sore shins from my overgrowth of hair on my shins that all gets pulled out.

i like the thin sock-thick sock combo, or smartwool. they work really good for me. the best thing though is to have boots that fit really good. next time you buy boots, spend a lot of time trying on as you can and have a experience boot guy help you out.

this thread got me thinking for a little....harvey you should created a NS.com sock that actually keep your feet warm...although you have a life, im sure you can find time in your busy schedual to do it. good luck.....hehehehe
