Society has progressed past the need for moguls

Goin through old threads... Moguls are probably one of my favorite aspects of skiing and spring slush bumps are incredible. I also ski a 122 reckoner in a 191 through em. Go figure haha!

Thanks for the throwback here.... Fuck a mogul

Maybe it's a west coast thing. We have more snowboarding and it keeps them down. But at no point during the day I'm gonna be like. Hmmm I want to zipper line some shit. If they are there and I have to go down them. I will. With little to no problem.

And yes a good chunk of what freestyle skiing came from mouguls. Fucking Johnny Mosley. But maybe it was those shredders who were tired of the bumps and wanted to do more?

Also the way ski technology and how we ski has shaped mouguls as well. Skiing strait skis that uses tail slapping to turn make them better then parabolic skis with carving and skidding.

But I will never forget one time on a groomed run that was next to some well built bumps this kid smiddy from VT was going as fast as me on the groomer. I was impressed

Same, idc what I’m on moguls are a blast. Spent bulk of my time on a c108 last season, can’t wait to to try my d104 in moguls lol , I don’t have any appropriate mogul skis ?

You can't ski bumps, you can't ski.

No joke. When I was on the CU Freeride program they had us ski moguls for at least an hour each day and I got mad good at them. Its fun fun to show up on top of a bump run with baggy park gear on and smoke a bunch of crusty old guys.

When started to focus on em a lot more, it’s really helped my technique elsewhere and they can have some nice jumps too. I’d also always have a mogul run be my last run of the day because I’d always still have so much energy at like 4pm.

They really force you to have good form and line selection or you get tossed into the blender. I found I am much better at skiing packed powder and tree runs since I started getting good a moguls.

Yes even on the east we don’t need 15cat track wide groomers it’s pointless leave half of it bumps

Skiing in Minnesota would be so much more fun if they left some moguls to ski

I ski skinny skis and can ski moguls just fine

Skiing moguls under the chair asserts dominance. It is necessary to weed out who is good and who will get heckled

Nothing is skiing feels better than when i see your girl pushing you to the side so she can watch my run under the chair.
