also agree...glad i was able to experience childhood, highschool without iphones and insta. happy to say i am not physically attached to my phone and would have no problem detoxing but all work i feel like relies on having a smart phone

well i disagree with that definition. social media is myspace, facebook, twitter, instgram. arguably snapchat, reddit, and tumblr. but regular messageboards are not social media imo, they also existed on the internet before social media existed. i like forums but i dont like social media.
i could also see referring to youtube as social media but that's iffy.
imo a big part of what separates social media is that social media is about the person/profile like facebook. where on forums a lot of people just have a username, and it's all about the threads not about the user profiles. and yes thats vague and ambiguous what constitutes what but i think forums do not count as social media.

well yea i guess i wasnt really clear in my original post, i said it in a sloppy way. but i mean as far as recent things that have changed modern society in recent times. war predates this society, social media doesnt. so yeah you are right and i am not saying i wasnt technically wrong, i am just clarifying. yeah some things in this society are worse than social media, but social media is the worst invention of this society.
