So now that High north is out, HOW IS COC?

very very very good. it was well worth my money last summer. from looking at the high north lane when i was at COC, i was very happy i made the choice to go to COC.

its pretty chill, theres no rivalry or anything between the boarders and skiers, there all just really sweet. And the coaching is basically just learn when you want to. If you dont feel like learning something at the moment you can go off and just ride and then when you do want to learn something you can either ask your coach, or any other coach and they will help you out. I really liked how it was setup. You could get some advice jumping at the top of the park, and then go down to the rails and get advice from other coaches on rails. Everyone helps eachother out, and everyone has fun.

get off of NS, go to the COC website, and fucking register for your fucking camp. 8 days, 12 days, 29 days, doesnt matter.

worth every penny

I couldn't have said it better myself. I absolutely loved it there. You're on your own 95% of the time too, which is pretty awesome. I can't wait to get out there again this summer.

sick im trying to get my parents to let me go. maybe i will see some of you there? haha

sickest camp now that high north is gone and it may even be better if high north wasnt there.

ok i know all this shit, i want the dirt i want the stuff COC doesnt put up on the website
high norths lane wasnt spectacular but the people working there and everything else was exceptional, and only 80 people a session made all the difference

how crowded does the lane-tbar-breakfast get

One big thing I really was looking forward to besides skiing was hanging out with the coaches/friends I made last year, again. I hope a lot of the HN coaches go to COC.

HN was the shit. period. i dont care how big COC's park is because it looks like you cant lap it as fast or as often as high norths
but i wanna know

I won't lie it got kinda crowded with all the racers and everything, but the most I ever waited in line was 15-20 minutes. And that's only once a day or so. For me anyway.. I don't see that as a reason to not go.

but is it worth the money
acually, my parents will probably end up making a deal to try to manipulate me getting better grades
they said straight A's but thats not possible anymore

i dont even know anymore, but keep it coming

do most people progress a ton at camps? like 360's to 720's or just sick grabs and whatever. haha, noob sounding question. it sounds like a sort of go at your pace type of thing which is way cool to me, but I'd love to learn spins onto rails, hitting bigger jumps, grabs etc. I guess more of it is just spending more time in the park this season.

The general misconception about COC is that its really crowded. Plain and simple, its not. HN and other camps may not have as many people per session, but they are also not even a fraction of the size of COC. With the sheer size of the lane COC is in, it's not crowded at all. I barely had to call a drop in all 8 days i was there.

The lift line gets pretty crowded after lunch when the racers get there, but after talking to some other coaches at momentum and HN, they said the line is about the same or a little bigger than at HN and momentum.

And yes, you still get to hang out with all the people you meet and the coaches. If you talk to them, alot of the coaches will show you sweet places to eat and do stuff at if you chill with them. I would believe its the same as HN in that sense.

COC has a great park, and the coaches are good too. But it will never compare to how chill, relaxed and tight knit HN was. Shane is one of the coolest guys ever, and shreds hard every day. All the coaches and diggers ride like they were campers and taught me more in one summer than in any single season ever. I've been to COC as well, and it was great, the park was amazing and the activities are tight, but it didn't even compare to HN. That being said, it's still worth the 700 or whatever to do the ski-only camp.

Go to COC - go to momentum - you won't regret it. I have never heard anyone ever say, "what a waste of money" this will be my kids 4th season. he now works all summer to pay for just camp.

tell me about it... I am thankful he actually likes working.

although........ I think I might pay for camp this year - FOR ME! I read an article in one of the ski magazines about an old guy who went a couple of years ago and it made me jealous. I wanna go!

For sure. And yes, it is absolutely worth the money. Hands down. It was an unbelievable experience. Especially for me, coming from PA.
