They have just had a huuuge dumping of snow. 60cm over night, unreal when not even two weeks ago they had almost no snow. Watch this:

but it's on top of nothing... we need a couple more good storms to have safe and decent coverage. this is definitely a good thing though.
 
This, I'm off out there tomorrow. My flight today got cancelled, but the resort will probably be closed tomorrow anyway. Avvy risk will be off the charts for the next few days. It is great news for the season, although, based on last year, this might be it!

 
^^yeah, for many low altitude resorts this is probably their first layer ....

one little bad side of this story might be that many resorts are probably going to get closed down this weekend due to avvy risk...

a lot of resorts are already at 4/5 and predicted to hit 5/5 resulting in closure of resorts and many alpine roads ... :(

I just feel bad i'm locked away in my dorm having to study while i see these ridiculous images popping up all over my facebook feed ! >:(

Tomorow I`m planning to go to verbier!Any advices about like going on the side of trails to hit pow?

I got no idea what I'll do, Avy danger is at like 5/5 right now.

 
Honestly, I'd say theres a 90% chance that all the resorts in the area will be closed tomorrow.Its 3-6ft of snow on top of bare rock in most places, slide potential is going to massive.
 
It's easy: if it's 5/5, don't go out. Fucking dangerous.

The only thing you can do is make a small jib-setup or do some crazy shit in your backyard. Don't go out.
 
WOAAAAAAHHHHH going out to austria the week after next forecast another 50 cm before i get there! just hoping they dont have to close resorts down!
 
Long overdue. Super stoked on all the snow. I leave for Austria in a week, by then the pack will have settled a little hopefully. It's too risky now!

Yesterday and it snowed again all day and all night

I'm from Quebec, so to me it's all new and it sounds fantastic! I need to hit the slopes!

 
The snow was amazing today in Austria.... Still thin in some spots but overall Zauchensee was a blast. So stoked to go up tomorrow. Not stoked on going back to Vermont on Thursday....
 
Dear god just got back from Val D', best week of skiing in my life. Deep soft tree lines every morning since wednesday. Fucking epic.
 
If anyone happens to be driving out from the UK to the Alps between Christmas and New Year, please let me know.
