So I'm not using poles anymore...

ive done it in the backcountry and its awesome, i like it even more than with poles. last year we took my friends snowmobile out and i didnt bring them and i loved it. i dont see why not having poles would make it worse.

No poles is fun on sunny days where youve already done everything and your just trying new stuff and feeling something else. POW skiing without pulls is pushing it. Andy and Pep might think its sick, but c'mon, we don't all have Hellbents, and we all arnt as good of skiers. If I had hellbents and helis I would maybe try it more. But when i want to ski sick pow, I usually have to treck through some stuff to get to it, which is pretty difficult without poles. Though it is all fun, and is all skiing. Just keep your skis longer than 160.

did I say any of that? I've never seen you ski in my life. I said that

poles make it easier to stay centered in non hero snow. I didnt once

say that it couldnt be done I just said I thought it was a lot more

work.

Nothing against you there Phil...

Here's how I see it.  say you do work more, do you think you wouldn't get better?  If you work out, and dont push yourself hard, you wont see much improvement, but it you work your ass off, you will improve much more.

Now when ditching the poles, you learn to carry, generate, and control speed in ways you didn't with poles, due to the fact you had poles to make it easier.  So skiing the mountain without poles is a learning experience...it has been for me at least....You just have to go and charge...

I tried no poles last year....it was really fun.

Now I have a broken finger.....so guess I'm stuck with no poles :)
