so im going to this club in NYC tomorrow night and there is no cover

charge. and apparently the theme is "burlesque".... dont rlly know what that is but im liking what i see when i typed it into google :p

anyways heres the big question:

how are

guys supposed to dress for something like that? was thinking just a

white dress shirt with a black tie and black pants an rockin some

aviators.

any ideas NS?? +k for any actual help.

Burlesque is usually associated with Victorian ear style so I would probably go with a suit if you've got one. Aviators probably aren't appropriate but if you have some glasses with clear lenses you could probably make those work.

Its a bar/club called Still on 192 3rd avenue between 17th & 18th. Never been there b4 but my friends been promoting it and no cover fee is sounding like a win/win.

Overdress, generally. If your friend is promoting it, and assuming he's your age, odds are it won't be an ultra-exclusive scene (no offense - not a bad thing) so you're not going to be dealing with something way out of your normal league. If he is promoting it, he could very well already be getting some bottles comped, I've been to similar situations.I would avoid going with the theme too much, or even at all, unless it is literally a costume party - chicks might but I agree with whoever said black dress pants or slacks and a NICE shirt, no tie, a jacket if you have one.A suit would work as well. NO SUNGLASSES. Jesus. You can win if you're the best dressed/overdressed, you automatically lose if you're underdressed - a general lesson.

Settle for a polo fit and some air maxes. Nothing is better than class at the club, the ladies love it.
