and I realized something. The types of people that go to TGR, with the exception of some newschoolers of course, made me realize that most people that watch Warren Miller probably dont even know about Level 1. It actually got me kinda pissed about that fact. I realize they have been around longer, but all these people probably dont even know there is a lawsuit going on between WME and Level 1 and they are still going to support that fucking movie. Ok end of rant. BTW boycott your warren miller premier.
 
any big tgr guy that understands skiing will know how much WME has sucked over the past 15 years or so, regardless of knowing about the lawsuit or not
 
Wait, was that an amazing revelation? NS could try and officially boycott warner miller, and gapers/families still would have absolutely no idea.

those guys have been around longer and know skiing better than a lot of ns kids so they really do know that wme is retarded and that tgr movies are in fact better than warren miller movies
 
TGR premiere here is downstairs from where I'm sitting in about 45 minutes... think they'll do a shoutout for the Refresh premiere that happens in 2 days? Hahaha.

TGR users know their shit. Probably some of the best big mtn skiers and shop techs you'll find are TGR guys.

4bi9 is doing a co premier with tgr in salt lake next thursday night! hopefully bring the two crowds together and drop some knowledge
 
People that don't live in ski towns don't know about newschool skiing. I started skiing when I was 5, and I got some days in every season for the last 15 years, but until last season I seriously didn't even know a park skiing scene existed. Everyone I've ever known that rides, snowboards. I'm the only person I know that isn't old that skis. I knew about twin tips and shit since about 4 or 5 years ago, but the only real park skiing I saw was the occasional guy going really hard in the Mammoth superpipe. It wasn't until last season when I could afford my very first season pass + own pair of skis, and came on newschoolers for gear advice, that I even knew about park skiing. I saw THalls urban wall jib from The Massive on redbullskiing.com and immediately started jibbing and fucking around in the park.

I mean, I might have had a different experience from other people, but the chances of me meeting someone that knows anything about park skiing in my daily life is like
 
I don't get it, what does TGR have to do with WME? Two diff audiences, and of course people on TGR know what is going on with WME, and actually understand the legal IP issues better than most of the ADD kids who spent the summer taking pictures of themselves wearing tall T's under XXXL Oakley in the mirror of their mom's bedroom.
 
Because my point was, I was sitting there, and the 50 year old lady, who would never fucking watch Level 1, was sitting there talking about all these crazy young men, saying, " OH my, OH my that looks very dangerous". And then it made me think the people that go to Warren Miller are usually even worse. Thats all. And my point was most of these people, make up the majority of people that support WME, and even though they can understand the severity of this lawsuit, they dont even know it exists.
 
unfortunately the household name for freestyle skiing is WME and theres not much anyone can do about it. even if most wme gapers did know about the lawsuit its not like they would care either. their audience thinks all wme movies are god like and will blame l1p for whatever they do. this is a big generalization but is true to some extent.
 
This is my opinion....

NS > TGR forums

TGR > L1P > WME

Every year TGR puts out movies that are always fucking insane, and are easily my favourite movies. L1P puts out good movies too, but I can only watch so much park and bc booters, with a few pow shots. I'm not into the park thing, but I definitely respect it, and I think more people should respect the TGR movies. I've seen a ton of hate against TGR, but it's the forums that suck, not the movies. Give them a chance.

Oh, and fuck WME.
 
I have to agree here.

Skiing is WAY more that just, how many rotations someone can get on a booter, or how tech one can get on the rail. Nothing can compare to the TGR movies where it goes from someone slaying the park to Seth Morrison making a face in Alaska his bitch. This is probably why I LOVE the TGR movies followed closely by the old MSP Ski Movie series. I can only stand to watch someone hit the same portion of the terrain park so many times.
 
They also should know that reverse camber and rocker are the same thing old man. We are making skis shorter and fatter to help you. Put those 210cm away and go to another WME premier
 
And I am not trying to say that L1P is a step above shit on my shoe. I put them above MSP. But WME needs to cease existence.
 
I know what you mean. There are lots of people even younger people that dont go on NS or TGR and because of that dont know anything about the lawsuit. One of my friends who lives in Denver was going to go to the WME premiere and I had to explain why he couldnt and that if he did I would disown him as a friend haha. Until this lawsuit I didnt even know that warren miller wasnt a part of WME anymore. Im just gonna keep informing people that dont know/understand.

The guys from TGR, Todd Jones in specific, have been nothing short of extremely supportive for Level 1 regarding the suit brought by WME. Yes they have a different audience, but I have a lot of love for Teton and what they do!

TGR > NS in terms of intelligence level of members and tech knowledge as well as general maturityNS > TGR in terms of community and laughs
 
I wouldnt go as gar as too say that. Alot of the people on TGR THINK they know what they are talking about but are just a bunch of pompous elitists.
 
i really think overall TGR members know a lot more about gear than NS members, look at all the famous tgr threads about binding paper templates, bending fks brakes, all kinds of mods and ski repair, and the solid advice given in tech talk
mostly here it's kids talking about what they heard somewhere else
 
I completely agree, although i see TGR and L1P movies on the same level. I like watching park as much as i like watching big mountain. Both of the TGR and L1P premieres were ridiculous, but in their own ways. I have nothing but respect for both of them.... and yes TGR forum isn't my favorite.
 
It's a bitch to navigate and if you have a question they will answer it but act like fucking snobs when they do it. NS CAN be that way with a few select people acting like douches but overall, unless you are in NSG it isn't TOO bad.

i went to the Seattle premier and the people were pretty disappointing too (with the exception of newschoolers). I'm definitely gonna keep supporting level 1 cause their movies are 10 times better than anything WME could even dream of putting out.
 
Those guys really do know a lot about skiing besides park.

When I told my parents about the lawsuit and how I'm boyctting WME, my dad laughed and said something along the lines of "I wasn't gonna see the new Warren Miller movie anyway, those films suck."

My dad's awesome, but he makes the worst jokes.
 
word. i overheard some guy say his friend couldve filmed the whole thing and he'd rather gave gone to the warren miller movie. so not cool.
 
saying he could have filmed re: session? seriously? i thought that it was one of the best ski movies I've ever seen, non stop incredible shots and skiing.
