So I Want to Spend My Summer on the West Coast...

I just graduated from college last month and instead of jumping straight into the job market I want to take a couple months off and go on some adventure. With that, my sister bought me a flight out to visit her in Seattle for a grad gift so I have means of getting out their. I can either take the flight back to upstate NY a few days later or find something else to do.

My friend is working down near Fresno, CA in a national park so I was thinking of traveling down to visit him but I doubt I can stay with him long term. He is driving back to New York in August after he gets done with his internship and I atleast want to travel back with him.

Other then my sister and my friend, I don't really know anyone else out their.

So... does anyone have any unique/fun/interesting suggestions on how I could spend my summer? I'm down for working whatever as long as it will be worth the interesting stories that may come with it(and something I wouldn't be able to do on the east coast). Ski related/non-ski related whatever, let's hear what you have-

I live in Seattle and it's awesome.

It's also a couple hours from Hood....... If you like hiking, biking, or any outdoor activities to be honest, it's a great place to spend some time. It's by the mountains and the ocean at the same time so possibilities are vast.

hmm its probably a little late to do anything super out-doorsy and crazy, but check out coolworks.com they have awesome jobs all around the country.
My summer got fubar but I was gonna be some sort of outdoor guide.

Fresno sucks so bad. I live in Sacramento, and it gets hot as fuck here. Like 110 easy. There, it just gets even hotter and then you realize...you're in Fresno.

my biggest problem is finding a place to stay no matter what i do. Does anyone know any good places that will supplement housing if you are employed. I know Mammoth does...
