So i start college soon, kinda nervous

In a couple weeks I start college like a bunch of you, but for those that already know what its like, whats some things i should know? Kinda nervous for it.

so far learned i need to jerk it a lot, and I'm most likely to get raped, but I'm going to a college 5 mins from my house so ill be at home

then you are a bitch.... if you are living at home its gonna be similar to high school? u have no reason to be nervous

I've just started my second semester of my first year. Don't be nervous, its fun as fuck

dunno really... int he 2 years I have been in college now (although its different since Im in Germany), I thought it was pretty chill. Everyone always said about "studying so much" and "no more freetime", but for me, its seems like that total bullshit. I suppose you have to enjoy life at its fullest and take in all the new experiences. Although I dont know if its really helpful to still live at home during college. Might take away a lot of the new experiences.

i went to a tech school for 3 years, so i did shit and basically sat on here everyday watching edits until the day was over, my high school years were a joke

I third this. You will miss out big time. Seriously look into going into a dorm. It will be well worth it.

heres what you should really expect. in the first couple weeks you meet way too many people to remember them all, you party and get drunk a lot, and all you have to do is show up to your classes and do well on your papers/tests. besides that you can do whatever you want, its pretty sick

Of course, wish I went to high-school instead of dropping out to slang rocks, maybe I would've learnt something.

This is 90% true. You have a 10% chance of success if you join an athletics team or a fraternity (provided they aren't shit at your school). Or if you are super lucky, you have an insanely active ski/snowboard team/club like some of our schools in the west (no idea where you are going - too lazy to check profile).

Other than that, figure out where you classes are before your first day. Bring a print out of your schedule with you so you can compare to anyone elses you may meet. Purposefully eat lunch on campus the first week so that you maybe get to know some people. You should have an hour where it's normal for everyone to be out of class. So maybe ask someone in the class before that if they would like to join. Do go to any freshmen events, cause there will be lots of people there, you want to know them.

I lived at home cause I didn't give a FUCK. Also it was 25 minutes closer to my hill, I get bomb dig mpg, and dorms suck juicy cock. Financial advantage fur sure.

Don't be nervous the first week or you'll miss out on a lot of sex! From Workaholics: I know I didn’t feel college ready until I saw two coeds having casual sex atop a high dive.   But then again, I wasn’t in the Ivy League or anything.

Your from scranton, so you are going to go to scranton university?

honestly my personal opinion is get out of north east PA as fast as possible.

This will be the first year I won't be heading back to college in the fall. So sad to be done with my undergrad, I'm going to miss it a lot this year. Don't worry you'll have a blast.

i know someone above already said it but do take care to know where all the classrooms are

my first day of freshman year i got to class 1 minute before it started but thankfully the teacher was really lax (but be a bit early so you can pick the best seats)

idk if you've gone to ratemyprofessor.com but you should check it out and see what kind of professors you have

im 25 soon to be 26, and around this time in 2004 i was probably in the same mindset as you. i was born and raised in a small town in upstate ny and to me, burlington vermont was a big city full of people i didn't know.

your first 6 months of college will probably shape the next 6 years of your life. you need to make decisions about how you spend your time and who you spend time with. work hard to keep your brain right. when you aren't working do whatever the fuck you want. welcome to adulthood.

I'm going into my last semester of college, and for me, the best decision I had made was joining my school's outdoor recreation club. I met the best friends I've ever had through that, and now we paddle, bike, climb, camp, and ski pretty much every day of the week (weather and school work permitting). I suggest joining a club or partaking in activities on campus that interest you. You probably won't regret it.

everyone's in the same boat man, be overly outgoing and you'll be fine...

Trust me it wouldn't hurt to show up with a handle and 30rack your first night-walk around inviting people (chicks) to your room-party-awesome way to start. If you get written up 1st night no big deal and you have a cool story to tell & a bonding experience already with everyone there.

Frats are overrated. Play Ultimate Frisbee. As for moving in. I was practically shitting myself on move in day. once my parents left though its a lot of fun. ****Leave your door open for like a week***** then people stop in and introduce themselves. Make friends with people on your floor. I am best friends and rooming with 6 guys from my freshman floor. Have fun man and dont sweat it!

don't be nervous at all, college is easily one of the most fun times of your life and you'll have more freedom and free time than you've ever had. you can party your ass off, chase tail, learn shit youre actually interested in, find people you click with, find whatever kind of social scene you dig, whatever, it's what you make of it. just keep an open mind, go to class and do your work, and everything else will be gravy

im not blowing sunshine up your ass, it's just the truth. let me know if you have any specific questions, for the mean time, just get pumped cause after your first semester youre gonna wonder how you were ever nervous about the whole thing..there's a reason every adult's eyes twinkle when they talk about their college years

Partying is fun, but expensive, and not worth it. It is a thousand times more fun to goto the bar, have a beer, watch baseball, play pool, eat wings. Dont get in trouble your first year.

Make sure to spread your classes out, and give yourself little breaks. Make sure to utilize these for class work.

Treat school like a job. The second your on campus, DO NOT LEAVE. From 9am - 5pm, when not in class, be working on classwork/studying. Come 5pm, your free to do whatever you like, and prevent the stress of cramming, and last minute homework rushes.

Remember theres always a party next weekend, but there isnt always another chance at the test you have on Monday.

Take things slow, wear protection if you choose to sleep around. College is a breeding ground of disease, and I know plenty of people whove ended up with gonnorhea, and etc. Even though it's curable, save yourself the embarassment of calling the cute broad from the night before.

Keep in contact with friends and family. They WILL send you care packages, and they are just as exciting as the ones in Call of Duty MW2. Also, you never know when someone is partying for spring break as you, and can end up with a beach front condo.

School first, than everything else. Ive learned this the hardway.

Dont cram your classes, take a fun one every semester so you have something to look forward too everyday, and a break from the grind.

Make sure you always take a fun class. Never skip classes until at least after the first mid term. Cram and forget classes that are not prerequisites, learn classes that are.

You can't cram for math classes

The difference between an A- and an A+ is not worth the time in a lot of classes.

If you are worried you are falling behind, then you better deal with it ASAP (over the weekend).

Never hesitate to visit a prof during office hours. You are paying for them to teach you.

don't waste your time on pointless stuff like excessive videogames or movies etc. You will regret it when you miss out on a sweet trip or party because you got behind in class.

and most importantly. move out of your parents house!

I dont think ive ever lol'd so hard with this image being posted haha. But don't sweat it man, if youre lucky you will be drunk 24/7 so you wont be nervous and no fucks will ever be given. Just make sure you find the biggest kid during orientation and beat him to death with a baseball bat so no one ever fucks with you.
