So i just got a nuisance party citation...

and i need help. i wasnt in my dorm room, my roommates went either but there was a party going on. people got written up and m.i.ps that night but none of my rommates or i were present for it to be blamed on. the cops came back the next day and gave us a citation. it is the biggest one on the sheet, $1000. I was out with my girlfriend that whole night but didnt buy anything to prove my innocence like a receipt that i could show or something. i cant think of a way to prove that i was out except for people saying i was out like my girlfriend and the people i was with. is there any way i can reduce my ticket or anything i can do to get this shit to go away? o yeh and this is in a dormroom at farrand hall in boulder colorado. alright you future lawyers HELP ME OUT!
 
Depending on how serious you are about this....everything from teachers/staff/etc that saw you out all the way to gas station cameras.

cause that'd be dope.
 
alright so i found a few text messages that say where im going and stuffand at what time i sent them and recieved them. does anyone know if these are taken seriously in court? i also think im gonna go over to student services. supposedly they take cases for free. law students will help you out or something like that. fuck i hope this gets dropped. has anyone had a similar situation?
 
sounds like something you could get dropped easily with some good legal advice...that being said, that legal advice isn't gonna come from NS...go to your student services thing like you said.
 
i wouldn't be worried about it....you have your girlfriend as a witness and she can say she was with you the entire time. you can also get somebody that was at the party to say that you werent there. you're innocent until proven guilty...unless they have absolute proof that you were there they can't do shit.

unless of course this all took place on your property, in which case your only hope is to say that the people were there without your permission and you couldn't have done anything about it.
