apparently when ever you are charged with a felony level crime you atomaticly get a 3 month suspension on your license... this is bullshit. i can understand if your crime occured when you were driveing or something, but this is bullshit!!!

Beside saying what happened, and that sucks,
There are a lot more this you should worry about then driving, ie. voting, jobs, and anything in general.

yep having a felony on your record is very badif a job is choosing between you and a person without a felony, they will pick the other person

ps: If you haven't already, I would get an expensive lawyer IMMEDIATELY. Even a misdemeanor is detrimental.

but anyways, yeah that is bull that your license is getting suspended as well. Are you under 18? that might have something to do with it. Frankly I think its retarded that they take away your license for shit that doesnt have to do with driving. Ive had friends who got MIPs and then got the same letter in the mail. So shitty
 
really, because someone can't just hop in a car and drive

and everyone I know that this has happened to it has occurred after a verdict had been made, in which case what would they be running from.....
 
really.. because if they had a suspended license and they got pulled over (which would be the basis of suspending the license..) then the cop would obviously know that something is up, and make sure that he checked what was going on... and if they saw that they were making a run for it, then they could take them in.

makes more sense to take it away rather than not take it away..

that timing thing i'm not going to address, because i'm guessing they just found out at the wrong times
 
because if a cop pulls you over and you do have your license he doesn't have the ability to run it

and really you know the right times my friends should have gotten their letters? please, tell me.

And really, they have had theirs suspended for MIPs and whatever the charge is for having a fake. All had gone to court, paid their fines and received whatever they were given. It was just one last fuck you from the law.

and yeah, obviously i know what time they should have gotten them. dumbass, think about what i meant instead of taking the literal words i said and reiterating them to me. obviously i dont know what time they should have gotten them, but then again, obviously they should have gotten them around the same time they got the information on their felonies or whatever the fuck they got, like the guy earlier in this thread said.

 
why would they mail you information about what you did? depending on what you did, they give you a ticket and say come to court on this date, if not we are going to fuck you over some more.

your point about the police being able to know immediately, well that is just not a good reason, nor do I think its the reason your license would get suspended. As I said in my original post if you are under 18, they like to suspend your license for just about everything you do wrong because to the government it shows you aren't mature enough to drive.
 
i am already sentenced, and i just got the letter today, i'd never heard about it till i got the letter. thats y i was shoked. by the way i'm 20.
 
honestly, i've never gotten into trouble with the police.. but when people i know have, they got letters with their court dates to follow up their tickets. i would assume with a felony, then they would definitely get a letter too, considering that its that much worse.

and i never disagreed with the fact that people under 18 get their licenses taken away for doing anything whatsoever wrong...
 
damn some of you need to get your shit str8. u don't get a felony with a ticket. you go to jail, and have to get bonded out, usually ur bond holds till ur court date. and on your final court date wich you will most likely have 4+ over several months you will get sentenced, and either taken into custody or released to serve out a lesser sentence.

and to the OP that is shitty. UT must be fucking ridiculous sorry man tough luck. Have you called the court or whoever sent you the letter to figure out why. It be interesting to see what the deal is unless it was involving alcohol/fake/drugs since I know all those will fuck over your driving. best of luck though.

still you were not mailed anything by the state besides this right? I know a couple kids with DUI and possession charges and nothing was done by mail besides the license revocation
 
yo man, they don't need to suspend your license to check up on you.

they pull you over and check out your license, then there can be a flag on your record showing that you're wanted, or that you aren't allowed to leave the state or whatever. I dunno might be different in the US but thats pretty much how it works here.

It sounds more like a stripping of rights and privileges.

And WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO ALREADY?

No I have not gotten a felony, I see that as a good thing. Yes I have been to court. Twice. No I have nothing on my record. I have had many friends go through the legal system for various things and have a basic, very basic, understanding of what went down for them.

read my last post, I was referring to my friends who received the same letter, all of which were misdemeanors. Hence why I said DEPENDING on what you did. Next time ill be a little more clear, just for you.
