So I am 17 and I work at a department store (Zellers)

..Anyways, there is a code call for staff for when somone is stealing somthing and its for all male staff to go to where ever the call the code too. So i was pulling out the skids of stock like I do every night and I hear the call so I responded. I booked it to the front of the store and i go out into the parking lot and i see a crackhead with a bag of cosmetics, and he was a dude. There were two other female employees out there and I yelled at him to give us the shit and go. We were face to face and after a bit of yelling he didnt give the stuff and he said to me , " lets go" so i was like sure . I went to punch and the Dude pulls out a 9 mill. So I wasnt prepared to let my life end for some cosmetics so I backed off and he ran.

So I was pretty rattled after that having a gun pointed at me. Just thought i would rant.

Has anyone else had a gun pointed at them??
 
holy shit. that must have been pretty scary. ive never had a gun pulled on me but i have had a knife pulled on me once at a skate park.
 
Yeah. 6th grade. Security guard on the bus thought I had drugs, and he had a loaded MK. Saudi Arabia, 2000.

My dad worked at a dairy in queens back in his teenage years

Had one or two knives pulled on me, then a gun during some security lockdown at Charles d'gaulle (sp?) believe it was an mp5, based on my vague memory (it was 3-4 years ago) and we didn't speak French
 
i was with the guy i work for (a stone mason) and we had to collect rent from his tenant in a little shitty apartment building the guy owned. the tenant was some crazy pill dealer, and he started waving around a shotgun so we peaced and got the police to kick him out.
 
Going into the presidents palace in Rwanda, the metal detector went off and I had 5 lasers on my chest. MP3's, shotguns you name it there was a small army surrounding me. Then I took off my belt, and it was okay.
 
had knives pulled on me, but have also been the one to pull them on someone. always bring a knife to a fist fight

pretty recently me and three people snuck out to go to this chick megans house (shes a babe) and we were all high except for one guy, and we were dove into a bush once and avoided a cop car. 5 minutes later we are in the middle of this intersection and my friend chris says: "dude if there was a cop here, we would be beyond fucked" literally 10 seconds later a cop turns on our intersection and we all dive for cover. my friend charles who is a retard tried to hide by leaning up against a brick wall with me in the bushes right next to him and hes a retard the cop saw him and pulled a 9 on all of us
 
At least it wasn't in New Haven, you woulda been shot. CT has some gangstas though. I would never walk around Hartford or New Haven at night.
 
well i live 5 minute away from detroit so if i wanted to i ould have a gun drawn on me in no time
 
I was flying to Istanbul and we had to stop in France

so we had to go through security again for some reason

So im going through the the lady notices something in my pocket. She asks what it is. I say

"Its gum"

and the french lady is like "A GUN?!?!?!"

and i laugh and say "no no, GUM"

Yep. I was in Seattle going to my trumpet lesson and there were cops all over the place. Me and my mom got out of the car and a cop starts walking over with an assault rifle pointed at us and yells at us to get in the car and leave because there were armed criminals around. Scary shit.
 
Wow. That's weird that you would have that policy. We justed talked about this in my business law class. Usually the store has a policy to do nothing for liability reasons. Basically to cover there ass because if someone like yourself where to get shot you could sue and if the guy stealing got hurt by yourself then he could sue. Not that you should but there is a possibility that you very well could sue your store for that and get some kind of settlement. You would be able to hire a trial lawyer who would take a cut of your settlement and they would have to hire a lawyer which would cost them at least $200 bucks an hour and they most likely don't want to take that to court and they will settle. I personally wouldn't do that but if your pretty rattled up about it our it caused you some sort of mental issues it would be possible. Anyways
 
yeah theyre the new, smaller MP5's, but seriously though, thats embarrassing on my part i noticed it right after i posted.

why the fuck would a cop pull his weapon on a bunch of high teenagers....

and my mom owned a flower shop at the time, my brother helped out and got fertilizer all over his shoes, this was just a few months after 9/11....long story short they swept him with and explosive wand and he got about 10 m4s pointed at him in SLC.
 
Cop had a pistol at me before.... For trespassing n some other stuff, that was the least of my worries
 
IMO its pussy if someone pulls a knife t a fist fight but I think you meant in case they had one?

and for me, that .357 with the short barrel revolver thing pointed at me by an angry dealers friend when a dealer counted money(not even my money...Someboy he thought was my friend or something had planned to rip him off apparently). I didn't take it too seriously but it wasa bit frightening hahaha
 
I gotta wonder why you would even attempt to fight someone over a bag of cosmetics? Especially if he looked sketch. Not like the store would care one way or another though, I guess.
 
I have had a knife pulled on me by some teenager in a Capetown market. He did not look like he was ready or willing to actually kill me so I told him to fuck off and he did.
Never had a gun pulled on me so far. Kinda interested to see how I would respond. Most criminals carry under powered 9mm compacts because they are small. Unless they have good aim chances are you will be out of the hospital by next tuesday. Make a damn good story too. Getting shot by a teenager with a little bit o' gold an' a pager.
 
The real question is why would you even do anything in the first place? I'd just let him have the shit, who cares? They probably pay you minimum wage fuck them.
