I got suspended for 10 school days (2 weeks) for drinking in France on a school trip..
The only difference is that my suspension was literally an extended vacation. I went to France over break, got caught, then got a phone call on the way to school that monday saying I was in immediate suspension for 2 weeks. My parents don't care if I drink 'responsibly' and felt like the punishment was bullshit anyways. I ended up spending 2 weeks off with a couple friends who got caught too. Ever since then I've always encouraged getting suspended. High school's a joke anyways, might as well just fuck around while you can.
As for YOUR suspension, theres really not much you can do once a school rules something. In my own experiences, school's tend to feel above the law and react more on impulse than rightful thinking. I've seen so many girls get away from trouble by crying and whining, but I've served handfuls of detentions and a couple suspensions for shit that wasn't even my fault. I got punched in the jaw when I was a freshman, but I got suspended for 3 days because I told the kid I was going to kill him before it got broken up.
A teacher doesn't give a fuck about Habeas Corpus. A teacher told me once that a school has a limited gaurdianship over its students while attending class. In other words, teachers and principles let the power get to their heads fairly easy, which is what seemed to happen to you.
One question tho, did they ever ask where you go the alcohol from? Cause it'd be retardedly hypocritical of them.
