What's up ns, I went for a shred on my kneissl big foot snowblades and the tips is starting to delam, along with the tip cover breaking. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Mine have a lot of major chips and delam on the toes, they still shred fine though, really well built product.

Step 1 - make a mini mold (if needed) out of tape

step 2 - shove some Marine epoxy or other waterproof adhesive in there

step 3 - clamp that sucker down and let it harden

step 4 - sand out the excess epoxy

Step 5 - shred

if the delam is bad bad then take some low profile nut / bolt things and drill em through the skis. This will keep the layers pressed down.

I just bought some beginning skis with delam tips. Some good tutorials on youtube. I have experince in boat work amd epoxy, so looks easy to me and im sure anyone could do it one thing though: dont use any old glue. You want two part polyesther resin that you have to mix. Epoxy is more brittle. G flex from west systems would be good but expensive. Any old cheap poly resin for boats will work. Im sure there is something for skis specificaly too but marine resin will work

1. What do you mean by a mini mold?

2. I've got ski building epoxy and I think that'll work

Is the tip cracked and/or broken?

I don't think so, I can check. Those things are fucking relics. They did come in handy teaching my kids how to ski, the ability not to get crossed up or run over kids' skis was pretty handy. I don't envision riding them anytime soon.

Not cracked or broken, just one part where the various layers are noticeably separating and the topsheets are massively chipped. The bases look great considering they haven't seen wax since the nineties and I used them primarily during late spring/slush/rock/grass season.
