Do you get on top of a drop in? I've considered a frew cross braces up the opposite side, or just slats of wood on the ramp to serve as steps. Any other ideas/ whats the easiest way?

The slats don't work well if you get snow on it. Ice coverd sticks on a slope with ski boots will deal you out more damage then the rail will.

ladder, but let's be serious, how much effort does it take to build a quick set of steps. You could prob make a good set of steps in two hours if u tried. Depends on how much room you have though. S'your choice

How easily could one get on the thing if you just added a verticle ladder to the back side?

well if there is a railing on the top it shouldnt be to hard but if theres nothing to grab onto when you get close to the top itll be pretty risky now that I found aton of wood Im gonna make some stairs when it stops raining...
