Snowy Boxes Are Death

So i was skiing through our rail park yesturday checking things out for our rail jam tommorrow (it is still under construction) and at the end there is a box that isnt marked off, so im like sure ill hit it. Now, what i didnt consider was that the box was coverd in snow and that snow had created an unslidable layer on the surface of the box. Here i come at a reasonable speed at the box thinking ill just slide it and ski away, but noooo. I land on the box, stop in my tracks, rocket foreward over the end of the box directly onto my shoulder. super pissed.

Now i sit here with a broken collar bone out for 6 weeks NOT STOKED

What im trying to say is dont hit wide boxes coverd in 5cms of snow, its deadly

that sucks for you man +vibes for ya for a speedy recovery. your mtn should have blocked off that shit if it was that dangerous thats some bs if you ask me, i would complain (in a nice way dont go off on them) just so maybe you can prevent someone else from getting owned

I broke my collar bone about a week ago also. What' with everyone breaking collar bones the first few weeks of the season?

My friend broke his collar bone 2 weeks ago when a skier hit him, broke his collar bone clean through and the bone was dislocated 2 cm below. it sucks

sorry that was my friend being gay but yeah man my friend broke his collarbone first weekend up and it must suck..good luck get better

wow talk about a lame way to break ur collarbone, but it happens, what can u do eh. ++vibes heal fast son

usually when i hit snowy boxes they are super slippery and the snow just comes off...maybe not 5 cm though. i'm gonna have to deal with the uber slickness of frosty boxes this weekend...cuz its like -25 degrees

ya i broke my collarbone in a stupid accident like that also last year. Im gonna post a video of a crash of what i think yours looked like. i did the same thing on a snowy picnic table a couple days ago, i'll post in an hour. it will take a while to get the vid up.

not all snowy boxs are death. it depends on the temperature. if its warm then there is a layer of water between the snow and box and thats what you stick to. if its cold out the snow will just dust off when you slide it.

Must have been heavy snow dude, because I love hitting boxes with pow on top. It usually just flies off really easy and looks and feels dope. Maybe they don't have as much snow on top when I hit them though...
Anyways, good luck on a fast recovery. Sucks to get hurt early season.
