Snowflex?!? neveplast?!?! whhhaattt

i dont know if this is a repost or anything but check this out:

damn im stoked..
anyone know how to get it? or anything about it at all?

dryslopes are dope. They seem to all be in europe though, I would love to ride even a tiny one wth a few rails all summer

yeah i wanna find out where to buy that shit. i emailed the owners of snow flex asking for a sample i could buy for a little rail in my back yard. they said no. damn

^^ im pretty sure the material is really expensive. ooks like a danks summer alternative to glacier skiing, andone know if it hurts to fall on that stuff?

i dunno, i've seen a lot of people riding on it in shorts and tees, shirtless, etc. probably isn't that bad.

i think resorts could start to use this technology on the lips of features, they would stay the same shape and consistancy and wouldnt ever have to be raked

I see what you mean man, but thats not a good idea. Snowflex is pretty shitty compared to real snow, and a lip of it would really hold you back.

landings would be good too because there would be no bomb holes. but i just love snow too much. i just wish this shit was affordable. FUCK

Shit looks really fun. The pipe in the first video seems so dangerous. No deck on the left wall? With a hip jump into it? Gnarly.

they were suposed to put up a full snowflex slope in virgina (libery moutian/university) over the winter that included 2 jumps a cornice 14ft halfpipe and 3 boxes.....in the press realese last fall the opening date was suposed ot be in feb? not sure cause it like dissappeared so im not sure if it happened or not

snowflex is around $50 per square foot, plus shipping from overseas.... you would need at least 3x12 feet for the inrun (at least) and then maybe 5x8 for an afterbangable landing...

talking around $4000...

i have heard of somepeople that live near a snowflex-using facility getting old snowflex for free..

if you live near some place that uses it, then it might be worth checking out.

and ECers. Liberty University (conservative christian school in Lynchburg, VA, 4 hours south of DC) is putting in a snowflex facility in the coming years. could be dope.

It's not bad if you wanted a run in for a summer set up but if that's all you got to ski on like the UK scene (bar indoor centers) its rather crap.

You can't try anything too gnarly on it as it hurts like shit to land on, many places won't let you onto the slope unless you have long sleeves/trousers on.

Plus it wears down pretty fast, so after a while it gets harder to turn on plus when it gets pretty dry/warm you can say goodbye to your bases. Pretty much like sandpapering them down.

I live like an hour away from that slope on the first video, sure it's big and it's got everything, but

still I prefer to go to the indoor slope (real snow, and more soft to fall on)

ps : the snowflex thing is pretty soft to fall on, neveplast hurts like hell...

haha yeah man... shits nasty, he didnt have a shirt on and under rotated a misty 5.

snowflex is pretty fun, deffinately not comparable to snow though.. just allows me to ski in the summer though :)

I live near Liberty, my friend and I are gonna peep it this summer when I go home. or at least make some calls and find out if it even exists....

If this is referring to snowflex, this is actually completely false. Snowflex gets easier to turn on as it breaks in. I'm sure there is a point of diminishing returns in which it just gets simply too old, but for the first 5 or so years, it continually gets better, faster and easier to turn on.

A completely bone dry snowflex surface will absolutely not permanently damage your base. Remove wax/diamond grind...yep for sure, but absolutely not perminant damage.

But yeah, falling on snowflex will definitely cut you without wearing proper gear.

Ah mate! riding on that shit is illilegit! its what we have to put up with all thaa time in the UK! i asked snowflex for a quote for 6 x 2 m worth and they came back saying that it would be well over 1000 quid! - thatsv like 2000 dollas or something.

when i lived in england i lived near the biggest dry slope in the UK. wycombe summit. it burned down in 2005 i think it was. i was devestated. they just left the dendix there so i took a few tiles that werent burnt and i ended up with a really small inrun at my house. i had to leave the tiles there when we moved back to the states.

you can get the shit they use for the ski jumps into pools for $10 a panel which is 8"x8" and cheaper if you buy in bulk

At last skiing in jeans might be practical and not reserved to gaper day. Too bad it's so expensive, but if a bunch of skiers pooled money in a big ski town, it might work. I also notice the whaleback summer jibbing ad, and I've seen pics, but they use carpet instead of snowflex, right?

Snowflex doesn't hurt if you fall in the sense it's not like landing on

concrete. If you have uncovered skin, you will get carpet burn which

hurts...

If it's not properly moistened it becomes slow as fuck. Honestly.. it's

ridiculous at times how slow it can be just cause the slope operators

haven't put the sprinklers on enough.
