at my local ski area teh snow boarders groom the parks so all the hits are like designed for snowboarders. so to get on rails there is no lip it get on and the jumps are really scetchy. its just really bad. but the snowboarders think its great.

so we have to complain to the mountain and they dont respond

its so gay

im a little lost other than the part about the lips being built for snowboarders. theyre really small and meant for you to ollie 2 feet to get on, makes them harder for us.

nono guys hes right sometimes theres nothng you can do about it, at my mountain I have the same problem. I board shop takes care of the park and the only people on the team are snowboarders. they do set stuf up differently. about the lips, the problem is that we skiers have to go on extremely fast to clear the gap and get on the rail which leaves us no tim do do good tricks. for snowboarders they just have to 50 50 on as slow as they want and do any trick. unless you have good contacts you cant do anything about it and iff you take a shuvel ( they will refuse) and they will warn you if you ever find a way to do it yourself. we have the same problem and it sucks but look at it this way. all other mountains you go to seem so much easyer when you go that its a joke almost. you will be able to pull insane tricks on things that are normaly pretty hard but to you seem like a breeze

end rant/

1. educate yourself. if you are trying to change something in your terrain park, "complaining" won't do anything for you. You have to know not only what is "nice' or "legit" but also what is practical and especially SAFE. an educated argument is the first step.

2. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. ask if the management will let you set up one rail on the side of the park. if you are not educated, this won't work, so make sure that you know how much snow you will need, how to shape it, etc, etc.

3.don't be a jerk about any of it. they are doing you a favor and don't want to hear you piss and moan.

thats how it is at my area too... they actually refused to let a skier groom the park. idk, we got a new park manger this year, just hope hes better than our previous ones.

thats how it was at my hill for a while too, but then they got a park team and it's all skiers except for a couple boarders. the park is so tight now. just try to get on the park team and do something about it

Yep. Don't diss snowboarders, they often know how the lips should look like.

And besides that it's just all in your head, you don't need a massive kicker to hop on a long piece of metal.

This year I started hitting urbans with two of my snowboard friends. These guys build lips smaller than most boarders but it definitely helped my skiing out so much more.

Vomit. This thread reminds me of Jon Olson complaining about every single course he skis on.... oh, unless they let him build it.....

Yup sounds like my park its a bunch of snowboarders building and snowboarder posers riding then all the legit skiers show up to tell them how to make a jump or lip better but they refuse to listen to what u say.

i also notice this cuz i come from a hugfe boarder mountain. and the rails are build completely for boarders which is annoying cuz the way they set it up it takes way longer then it should for a skier to get his ballance on them with time for switchups and other steezy shit also we have a launchbox built from corrogated tube which skiers pretty much cant hit
