Snowbird, We want a park!

just thought i'd let everyone that shreds the bird know that they're having an open meeting this thursday at 6:30 pm in the cottonwood room to discuss their Master Development Plan. i can't make it personally, i have to work, but anyone who agrees that if snowbird had a high quality park, it would be the dopest mountain ever, should show up and tell them what you think. if enough people show up with the same thing to say, they'll have to listen.

On the one hand I want to post a picture of a "facepalm", but on the other hand IF the Bird actually had a sick terrain park it might qualify as the sickest mountain of all time.

hey, i know it's pretty damn unlikely. but with the expansion plans that they have it only makes sense. right now they really don't have room to put in a dope park, but once they have some more space they'd be stupid not to. and yeah, it might then qualify as the dopest mountain, ever?

I think they should make a park at the bottom of Little Cloud just when the Spring pass goes on Sale. If they had a park from the day PC closes, til closing day I would drop the $300 on a spring pass. Even if it were 4 rails/boxes and two 20 foot tables.

The bird in the spring is awesome, but having some jibs would make it that much better and shouldn't be too difficult to maintain.

If the bird had a legit park... holy shit that would be epic. It would make choosing passes much easier. Of course if brighton can keep up their park improvements they'll pretty much be that epic mountain.

that would be cool, but i also think it would be pretty rad if they put one by the baldy lift. i feel like that could be a perfect place over there. even though it would probably melt faster, it would be an awesome spot.

snowbird used to be really up in the park scene, i love watching old movies and seeing shots from the bird, both private jumps and public park. I can understand the argument that the bird should be left for big mountain etc. but the least they should do is build a spring park. They honestly could make so much money on a spring pass if they did so. Look at how many kids are at Hood already, Mammoth and even Bachelor. It would be great to have that kind of spring skiing environment at home.

this was back before people started dying hitting jumps. after that happened every resort started looking at their insurance and seeing what was covered and how much cheaper it is to cut a park out of the picture. Especially at a place like the bird, you don't really need a park until at least may.

well, like i said. i can't make it to their meeting personally, but if some people show up and plant the seed, it's possible.

said it in my post

I have bought both a Park City and a Snowbird seasons pass every year since 2002. This year I could only afford 1 pass, so where did I go? Brighton. Had Snowbird had a park I would have purchased a pass there instead.

I don't classify myself as a park skier. I would honestly rather hit cliffs and pow all day. But, there are more than a handful of days at snowbird where every drop has bulletproof snow under it, and its too painful to huck. Even the most hardcore big mountain skiers at snowbird would agree that they would rather hit a 30 foot table than a 15 foot cliff on those days.
I also like rails. Most big mountain guys don't. If they don't, they can hit jumps instead. Just because Snowbird has sick terrain, does not mean that there is any reason why they shouldn't have a sick park too.
