Snow Season Forecasting

What are some patterns you believe in about predicting how a winter will be?

Based in evidence or not.

For me in California, it seems like when there is unsettled weather throughout late summer-early fall coupled with a noteworthy seasonal change in ocean temperature equals dumpage. But what do I know.

True, last season was the opposite but was true

California always felt like to me - bad start equals bigger dumps once season gets going.

Colorado feels like the opposite.

I couldn’t stand the Tahoe fakeout. Great December base then just no more snow.

Speaking of - wasn’t it a great start last season then it just fizzled?

If I'm prepared, it comes slower and vice versa.

Couldn't tell. Im just trusting my weather guy at work, the UAC, NOAA, and the U of Us forecasting models. All are indicating some consistent cold and snowy patterns into November.

Just praying another spell of high pressure for 7 weeks doesn't happen again. That's all.
