Snow Pants or No Pants! SLC Party!

FREE GLOW STICKS?

No no i get that it will be an awesome time but the part about the guy from maine that was kind of random, and i didnt realize before that girls would not at all want to wear snowpants thats great

So im suppose to pay 10 bucks to go to a venue that has one small bar upstairs and sit around a bunch of high school kids rolling their balls off while listening to shity club/dubstep music? I think ill pass.

i don't understand? unless Bruce Willis is coming, it doesnt change anything for me.

And since when did a facebook page actually dictate who is going to attend a party? most people who say they are going don't go, another 15% don't even live in the area but say theyre going to look cool and then alot of people who will go wont even be a part of the facebook invites...

That event page was made yesterday, the party is december 3. Still a long time for promotion.

Free monster? Great DJs? A bunch of people your own age getting hammered?

I would love to see what parties are worth your while.

.

Not sure how you are going to sit around a bunch of high school kids at a bar.

I guess dance parties aren't for fat people.

Go to the facebook page for more info, The attending thing on the side means absolutely nothing, I do know that.

For real though, why talk shit about it? If you don't like the idea shut the fuck up.

The fact its at In the Venue is the biggest turn off.

Great DJ's? Never heard of 'em.

18+? No fucking thank you.

Maybe Im just getting too old, but I'll pass on the pro-hoes and snow-bros.

Thats a perfectly fine reason to not go, college scene isn't you,but when is the last time you've been to the venue? They have hosted some pretty well known names. I was there a couple weeks ago and found nothing sketchy about it and trax stops at the front door so feel free to get as hammered as possible.

Supposedly Great Dj's, maybe I should go check them out?

If your older you get my point. No need to be so negative when someone is trying to promote their event, thats childish.

I'm guessing you're part of the group that planned the "party" since you're being so defensive about it. Im a 22 (almost 23) year old in a long term relationship who hates dubstep/club music and hates even more being around a ton of kids who just turned 18 and discovered drugs for the first time. I also really don't like in the venue and 18+ is a big turn off to me too. That 10 dollar cover i can go with a group of homies to jackalope and get drunk all night or go buy a 12 pack and hit a house party, both which IMO sound better than this "party".

Did i say no one would go? no. i bet alot of people will go. Will they have fun? more than likely yes they will have fun, i just said id pass. Even though i may hate being around younger people rolling balls while dancing to dubstep, they're definitely have a shit ton of fun themselves.

I was there a few weeks ago for Pepper/Expendables. I will agree that the TRAX stop is tits, and stumbling outside to a taco stand is awesome. I just really dislike the layout, and the fact it turns into a sauna within an hour of getting full. I guess its better than The Complex or Saltair, though.

Its 18+ man, wont be any highschoolers, and we got the big side of the venue that holds over 2k people

Sounds like it would be tight if that was your scene, but its not my scene. Im sure its gonna pop off.

Do what you wish, I am the one who planned this. I would like to clarify though, the DJs will be spinning a mix of hip-hop, dance and electronic tunes.

In The Venue seemed like a prime location to me when i planned this. I looked into The Rail, Saltair, Kilby Court, and various smaller areas to host this. After reading your concerns I realize i should add 18+ to the posters.

Did the poster show up black and white for anyone else? Not sure what happened there

Poster came up fine for me.

In your defense, In the Venue probably is the best option. Rail, Complex, Saltair, all suck. We really are lacking on good all ages venues in SLC.

Hope it all works it for you guys, I know a few peeps who are planning on attending.

Just be aware that the place will get hot as fuck, and the bartenders are all super-douchebags.

Thanks for the insight. We will keep the doors open, and there is an outdoor-porch area that is fenced in where people can go to cool down, smoke or chill as well.

And we are going to be promoting this at the U, SLCC, Westmini, and Utah State.... I have a feeling that the large majority of people who attend will be in college.

That's why I would come. Wearing snow pants in a club is stupid. I'd rock no pants and probably end up with the hottest girls in there while the high school noobs talked about how cool their ski gear was.

haha this sounds like an awesome time! I htink its sick a NSer is throwin a party. i think the 18+ will keep out 90% of the highschoolers. Ill let some of my slcc friends know for sure.

this event is before the new year, so unless you were behind a grade or whatever, all high school kids won't be old enough.

I'm 18 and a senior in highschool and was never held back... just like a lot of highschool seniors

Never said they all would. Anyone born September (usually the cutoff) - Dec. 3 will be 18. Thats like 1/3 of the senior class.

Saying their won't be

...under 18ers is like saying there aren't under 21ers at the bar.

I've been to many a rave at In the Venue that were 18+, and let me tell you, half the crowd was under 18.

lol at Eheath coming into the thread and thinking he is cool. You sound like a hipster

I'm sure this ad will interest some people on here, if I was a little younger and lived in SLC I would deff hit this up

Yes. Its a theme that leaves a lot of room for creativity though...

Glad to hear some stoke in here!

For those curious, the inspiration came when I was driving with some other NSers and we were talking about how stoked we were for the season, and how we wished we could throw a banger to celebrate. This was the outcome of that, becasue everyone knows huge house parties are asking to piss off your neighbors and get in trouble with the cops. The idea is to get wild in celebration of ski season being here! Some of the TVs in the bar will be playing some ski shots, and the decorations will incorporate winter. We are working on some skiing related prizes... I will let NS know if that works out!

I have had a couple people with macbooks complain that the posters look black and white, and are hard to read. If you are having trouble with this, I am sorry, click on the facebook link and you should be able to see the poster clearly.

To the person hating on In The Venue, I do appreciate you acknowledging that it is probably our best option in Salt Lake. FYI, they are in the middle of remodeling now, and it will be down by the time this event take place. They are replacing the ceiling in the bar room and re-epoxying the entire floor, along with a few other small upgrades.

To the person worried that a bunch of highschoolers will be sneaking in... the number of bouncers and there location is a decision that the event organizer makes, being me in this case. In The Venue is not responsible nor requires you to hire any, they just recommend that you do. I cannot guarantee that a few people won't sneak in, but I can tell you that at all times I will have at least 2 bouncers at the door checking IDs and keeping the line moving smoothly.

Sick response dude, how long did it take for you to come up with that one?

I clearly stated they'd have fun and other people would have fun, it's just not my scene. Maybe actually read my whole post instead of assuming that i'm just being a dick. And you know what happens when you assume...
