I doubt it'll be much, but it's a sure sign the season is close.

We had a pretty impromptu rail jam. Decision was made and then we kinda just posted stuff on facebook letting people know. Probably around 30 people showed up. I'm sure pictures/video will go up sometime soon-ish. Was a real fun time though.

Snowmaking going on right now by the way. Basically it's making piles in hopes of keeping as much of it around as possible unti theres enough to open, and with this arctic front rolling in there might be a few good nights of snowmaking in the mix.

I doubt it, no good snow making nights in the 7 day forecast. I would say they would need 3 more solid nights of snow making to open, or one full day/night where the high isn't above 32, and humidity is low. There is like no snow on the top of the lifts last time i checked, so unless it gets really cold right b4 the holidays doubt pns opens thanksgiving again. Hopefully in November tho.

Considering they haven't made any snow above the top of the blue chair, it'll be more than 3 nights, probably at least 5. I'm still sticking with first week of December.

no way. look at the forecast. all the previous snow will be gone and they will have to start fresh. they would only have 2 days of blowing AT NIGHT. however first or second week of december looks good

Like Billups said, those piles still have plenty of snow, and they won't melt instantly with 60/70 degree weather. Although, a November opening would be awesome, they still have to push all the snow they make. To further your excitement, however, those nights where the temp is supposed to be 34/35 aren't out of the question for making snow. PNS is usually colder, at least in the valley. Doesn't mean it will happen, but possible! I'm with Billups and tribefan on the possible opening day.

I'm guessing thursday is out due to the high chance of snowfall, which means high humidity, Friday looks good, Sat. Looks good, so who knows, but my money would be on not opening until december... but mother nature could throw us a curve.

God i hope we open but i wouldn;t be heart broken if we didn't open until after December 7th. God knows I'm not going to study for my test if we open before then.

Still crossing my fingers for an early opening for eveyone else but i know i won't be able to resist skiing if we open before the 7th.

They're making snow on top of the hill for the first time. That's certainly a good sign, probably going to be a real good night for snowmaking. It's pretty cold.

looks like their gettin almost 24 consecutive hours here. probably only have to stop for a few hours in the middle of the afternoon today

I hate to bring bad news, but there will not be a rail jam this weekend. Sorry, we wish we could have.

As far as snowmaking today, the guns were fired up around 8:30 this morning on the bottom half of the hill. They ran all day, and did not need to be shut down. The temps were not the best snowmaking temps, but every little bit helps. Hopefully the temps drop tonight and they can make a decent amount of snow.

Guns have been on since around 6 am. Tonight should get pretty good for snowmaking, supposed to get down to 25 or so, probably a few degrees cooler than that at Perfects. No rail jam tomorrow, but possibly something next week. Looking like theres going to be lots of snowmaking opportunities over the next few days, so that's definitely good news.

Absolutely! We were hoping it would be possible and wanted to have one too, but there wasn't enough of the goodness we all want right now.

And on that note, they did work last making snow, and it's looking like tonight will be pretty damn good too. It's already around 25, which is very conducive to great snowmaking. Nice and clear so it should keep dropping.

it looks like it might stay cold this week except for tomorrow and tuesday....and its suppose to rain tuesday, but hopefully not much.....maybe they will open by this weekend!
