compared to other places yeah, they dont have shit, but sadly theyll prob keep it like this till the next comp.
and birch has a box, 2 butter boxes in one, short barrel jib, tiny ass jump, short rail, and culvert quarter thing
 
And, are they still running it weekends and for race practice only too, im not sure. it really pisses me off when they do that. worth 14 prob not.
 
definitely not worth paying any sort of money to ride their shitty park. you can just poach the t bar for free anyways they never check. they really have the worst set up ive ever seen in my life though. big park has 2 boxes set up in a ride onish flat down but you gather so much speed on it that its super gay. or you can hit a ride on down box thats super wide and if you fall off the side you crash into a wall because they made a landing to it for some reason. then theres a sketchy rusy pipe set up as a cannon. pretty much an icy mogul onto it. or you can hit a dfd set up as a ddd. its a somewhat legit box but its setup so fucking badly. you go up on to this snow whale thingy and then theres a super un even kick onto it. and its kind of ride on to. smuggs doesnt know how to set up anything streetstyle. then you have the choice of a small shitty jump with a flat landing and a long knuckle or a big shitty jump then same thing at the bottom except if you opt for the small side you might die on the barrel that they put on the side of the landing. oh and if you want to hit the last big jump you have to pretty much skip everything in the park. birchrun has a ride on flat box with a landing thats way too steep for it so its just always icy. and then theres a super short ride on butter box to another even shorter rideon butter box to a little jump with no kick to icy landing. then theres a 6 foot long rail (the only rail set up at smuggs. everything else is a box) it used to be ride on but now the jump kind of sank in with the rain so its kind of street style. the jump is 2 inches lower. ive seen icy moguls better maintained than any of the jumps onto their shit. after the rail theres a little quater thing set up at an angle with a corrugated tube on top. it wasnt bad the first day but after a couple weeks of not even touching it it got a little icy. and then there used to be another one the other side but i guess the tube fell off in the rain. smuggs says they groom their park but really its just some cross eyed retard passing the cat over all the features without anyone actually getting out with a shovel to do anything. they dont give a fuck and even if they did, they wouldnt know that theyre doing. and like s.bishop was saying, they only groom their park every time they have a comp.
 
well put malcolm, they do the really basic groom like everyother night but they wait till comps to change it around (if they do at all) and give it a half ass groom, and no matter what it always sucks, but just poach it, still better than nothing. maybe go to bolton, not sure on the setup but, atleast they gotta park crew

Oh and Boltons really not much better heh, even with their park crew, they are dropping the ball so big this year.
 
update: they had a race course going through the park today so that the racers could practice before their run... i think smuggs has reached a new level of retardedness
 
yeah we skied with LJ today it was sick. i dont remember seeing any switch 10s but he was doing a lot of switch rightside 7's and a super carved out cork 9.
 
how are the tree skiing and trail conditions? I love smuggs but I'm down in NY...was thinking about coming up for the long weekend but I gotta figure out where i'm going.
 
Yah about Bolton, they got the big park up and running with 2 rails at the top, an A-frame and the trap that lead to a large step down and a larger one next to it (same as last year).

Then they have some rail next to the jumps, I forgot the name but its a like bent c shape with sort of a rainbow.....yah nvm then the double-hip jumps that are well groomed but still sketchty as hell and then finally the strait rail at a 45ish angle and the other one its got a down, the a kink to a less steep then steep again I think. Then another rail.

It's pretty shitty and they dont fix it even close to enough....
 
skied smuggs on sunday, didn't bother to check out the park... but everything else was super sick. everything had lose powder 6"+ and the trees were hardly tracked... surprising because i don't think we had any solid storms?
