Smokin dope as a teenager

I'm 15, soon to be a sophmore in highschool and i started smoking at the begining of freshman year, I have been caught twice, once on Halloween when it was my friends first time and he freaked out hard and told his parents and me and 3 other kids got caught, and the other time my mom found my stash. At the end of the school year I became friends with a new group of kids and we have a group message about hanging out and smoking and it started off with about 15 kids and now it's down to about 4. All the other kids got caught but they either made up a story or their parents were pretty cool about it and didn't tell my parents. We smoke together like 4-5 times a week in some little place in a forest place down town and just hang out there. But how did you guys do it? I usually just roll a J or 2 and my other friends bring weed and either a bubbler or bowl. How did you guys get your peices? I get packs of papers when I buy weed when I run out. How did you guys get money for it? I usually get a G of good weed for about 10$ but usually buy like 5 gs for $50 at a time. And most of all how did you guys keep it from your parents? I was drug tested a while ago but I drank a ton of water and somehow passed so my mom isn't suspicious any more.

I'm going to track your IP, screenshot this and send it to your parents. Marijuana kills. Dirty hippie.

Spice doesn't show up on drug tests just smoke spice because it doesn't show up on drug tests. So you should only smoke spice. Like me. So it won't snow up on your drug tests ya know

my short term memory isnt what it should be and i put that down to either smoking everyday since i was 14... or my ADD.

long story sho- oh look a penny!!

any adults on here who smoked a lot as teenagers? I feel like I can just stop when life starts getting more serious and freshman year was pretty much a joke but I know the rest of high school won't be

all of high school is a joke, and frankly, for 90% of people, college is a joke as well.

my advice would be to get all the stupid shit out of your system now- drugs, crime, rebelliousness etc. then by the time you enter the workforce you have a badass background and have a much better perspective on your life.

I done smoked nearly half my life and it certainly didnt help me in life haha. Oh, and you absolutely can be addicted to weed. Ive also had an opiate addiction and while cutting out weed was certainly less painful and easier, that addiction is very real haha.

My advice: dont smoke much till youre in college. By the time you are an adult you should have enough life experience to be able to handle yourself in nearly any situation- including drug addled situations.

all of high school is a joke, drink both nights every weekend now while you don't have to worry about school. smoke as much as you can too, also i found grade 9 the best time to really start trying different drugs but kids in my town start early. if you take a decent program in university you'll probably start smoking more and more because you'll hate your life doing 18 hours of school work a day and be so strung out and depressed from coffee and ADD prescription drugs that the only way you'll be able to get to sleep at night is by smoking a bowl. the odd weekend when you're not drowning in school work you'll still smoke because you'll be drinking. if you don't end it during first year it's just going to get harder from there on if you stay in your program.

if you go into arts or business you'll have the time of your life.

goodluck and i'll let you know how life as a professional is next year when i'm done school.

Congrats....?

But no addictive drugs are you going to be able to STOP using right when you want. They are called addictive for a reason. Ever heard of people who get addicted to Hydrocodone? Yeah, and that's even with a professionals approval to use it. Even just smoking for example it takes time so don't go around thinking you won't just be able to stop it like that...it takes time and it will probably be harder because you smoke a lot.

Lol anyone saying that weed is addictive and takes time to quit has 0 willpower.

You could say the same thing about a nicotine addiction, or any addiction for that matter.

All it really does take to quit ANY addiction is will power. That's how you stop, and stay clean haha.

Ever thought your experience with weed, isn't everyone's?

Addiction doesn't just mean your body is dependent on it. It means that your mind is. It means that you continue to use it even after it negatively affects your life and the people around you. That you seem lost without it.

It's not as simple of a word as a lot of people think.

IMO to be fifteen and be smoking so often is a bit iffy. Isn't there some shit about the effects of drinking and smoking on the developing brain?

some people can some can't.

I know some people who smoked a ton of weed in their mid teens and don't any more at all just cause its not appealing anymore. but a bunch of the kids I go to school with now can't get out of bed without or go to class without a bong rip. they'll sit around a bong and chain smoke it for hours. don't be those guys.

as for not getting caught don't smoke joints ever they're the stinkiest and least economic.

I would smoke, but my parents are extremely religious.

+ I don't know who I would buy from.

Your best bet is to get really good at rolling. Kids in highschool always need someone to roll for them when they dont have glass and it can usually get you a few puffs of a j or l. Then youre gonna wanna get a shitty $40 9mm bong. This will hold you over till like senior year when you wanna burn heavy and need a nice couple hundred dollar bongski. You wanna be pending about $30 a week, nothing too crazy, bt enough to burn daily.

From what I've heard, the only bad thing about weed is that it slows down one's motor skills in the developing brain.

No shit, things that are fun you want to keep doing? If you have a real reason to quit smoking, like a job or drug test or something, there should be no struggle there. All it takes is a tiny bit of will power.

Says the guy with the Greatful Dead icon... I bet you can stop any time you want, but just don't want to, right?

Say you smoke every day. One day, you get offered your dream job but it requires you to be drug tested very soon, so you decide to quit cold turkey. Assuming you have the will power to do so, you're not gunna feel normal for quite some time. You'll crave it, you'll feel lost, possibly even depressed, and the side effects of weed will continue to burden you. But as long as you have the will power to not smoke again, that's not an addiction, right? Wrong.

Weed just doesn't have the withdrawal symptoms that harder drugs do, which is why it is often considered non-addictive.

Disclaimer: I'm not anti-weed and don't judge anyone that smokes. I just like to inform kids who smoke who base their knowledge on weed from what other kids say. Fun fact: your HS health class wasn't complete bullshit.

There is a difference between physical dependency and mental dependency. Weed forms a mental dependency but has extremely little (if any) physical dependency. Other drugs, however, like heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, etc. do cause a physical dependency. When you quit these harder drugs you will become physically ill, have sweats, DTs, etc. In fact there are two drugs that can KILL you by quitting cold-turkey if you have a strong enough physical dependency... barbituates and alcohol. I bet you didn't know one of the substances that causes the strongest physical dependency is also legal? Probably didn't tell you that in health class.

Fun fact: a good portion of your HS health class was bullshit and was simply scare tactics to convince you that drugs are bad.

As for quitting weed, you get over the few side effects within a couple of days. It may be harder to sleep, maybe your appetite won't be quite what it normally is, but you'll feel normal in not long. Caffeine has been proven to have stronger addictive properties than weed. In fact, I am struggling to think of anything that is considered a "drug" and is less addictive than weed. Maybe hallucinogens like acid and mushrooms, but who really wants to do those night after night anyways?

Correct? I smoked a decent amount during the school year but haven't at all this summer.

I feel like everyone is basically on the same page in this thread, just saying it in different ways.

I was basically in this situation, just not really a dream job. At about two years straight of blazing basically everyday I decided to join the Army. I had to quit that day so I could piss clean as soon as possible. Long story short I did. I had no appetite and didn't sleep well for maybe 3 days max. Other than that I was fine.

Didn't even realize what a waste of my 5000th post.

Benzodiazapines*** Barbs are no fun to wd from but a cakewalk compared to say heavy xanax use, I lost a good friend to benzo addictions, the kid was clean for almost 2 weeks before the wd set in which eventually led to many grand mal seizures and his death. And severe seizures comming off heavy benzo use (xanax valium kolonopin ect.) Is the norm and expected, they are not something to fuck around with.

Ya that and a slew of severe developmental and mental diseases. Almost every study I've seen uses terms like may cause, in some people, increaseS risk of developing.... so idk, I've been smoking pretty much daily since 13 so 10 years straight with a one year break from 15 to 16, I'd say I turned out all right so far, but who knows many studies claim you won't develop or experience these issues to later on in life.

Would love to see this thread go in the direction of how weed has affected people in high school and post high school so us high school stoners can make more informed decisions. Personally I went from smoking twice a month tops sophomore year to smoking daily junior year and I find the pros and cons are basically even. When I was smoking twice a month I would always get crazy munchies, eating tons of food when I was high. Now I find myself barely getting the munchies at all and having a generally smaller apetite even when I'm not high, but I don't know if this is related to smoking or just not growing anymore or other things. I definitely have seen my short term memory go to shit, but have read that your memory will go back to normal after a few months of not smoking. The biggest drawback is probably that it has cause a lot of conflict in between me and my parents. If J could go back I would be a lot more careful about being high around my parents and hiding my stuff. I find that the opportunies for reflection about self and life in general counteract all the negatives that weed present. I'm kind of unique in that I am not at all a social smoker, and mostly smoke alone after gettig home from social things.
