Smith IO strap with no buckle?

the stupid little buckle on the back of the IO's is uncomfortable and useless. my strap constantly falls out of the buckle if i pull on the strap too hard and the buckle unbuckles when my strap is under my helmet.

Buckle-less IO strap;

if they exist, how do i get one?if they dont exist, how can i make one?
 
Smith has something called the "Universal helmet helper". It's basically just a piece of rubber which replaces the buckle. I find it much more comfortable compared to the buckle.
