Alright NS this is my first post here and i was just wondering if anyone has experience with the Smith I/O. I'm looking to pick up a pair soon, i was checking out the green sol-x lenses and i wanted to know what these look like in person. How mirrored are they? Where is the cheapest place to buy them?
Also, let me know if any of the other lenses look better and where to buy them.

look online like evo.com or backcountry.com. it is the off season so you should be able to get some good deals. you could also go to your local ski shop and buy them there, they are most likely on sale.

I love mine the only thing I notice is they fog up occasionally on the top part of the lense when its super cold other than that they're flawless

I ve ridden with the I/O s for three years and have had zero problems, but I wouldn't go with any of the sol x lenses, when the mountain gets shaded at the end of the day they are too dark and u'll have a hell of a time seeing. Get the ignitor, good for sunny days, but the rose copper base will help u see if the light suddenly turns to shit. Plus the sensor mirror, which is standard with all I/o s is one of my favorite low light lenses.

When its in the sun it looks like a platinum mirror, but its a little better than a full mirror. Its all about visible light transmission, u generally wanna be from the mid twenties to the thirtys (depending on sensitivity to light) for a sunny day lense that is not gonna suck when the mountain gets shaded or the sun decides to hide for a bit. Anything lower than that imo is not worth buying, unless u r rediculously sensitive to light. I made that mistake with a gold mirrored lens with a grey base, and absolutely hated them, don't sacrifice performance for what looks cool, unless u really don't ski that much, because if u do, u will be pissed.

I dont know what ones they are but the brownish one for when its light out and the clear yellowish ones for the low light and they fill all my needs

Ignitor or a Platinum mirror and a Sensor mirror is all you need, maybe a clear lens if you night ski. I can take real pictures of the Green Sol-X lenses if you would like.

That would help a lot, thanks. I know someone who has the platinum mirror but I would also like to see the ignitor in person.

i have I/O's and they are sick. they dont fog at all! i have green sol-ex and the reflection is pretty good no one can see your eyes when your wearing them unless they are really close then they can see in only at a few angles. i love this goggle and i bought mine off ebay because pretty much everywhere online are sold out of them.

I've used the Gold SolX on days ranging from bluebird to completely flat and I have never had any troubles. I highly recommend that goggle.

i love my pair so much, they are a little pricy but so worth it never really fogged up on my and i get great vision with them you wont regret getting them if you do

^but the ignitors have a mirror, and idk if the vr28 does, and I personnaly think the base.color on the ignitor is better, cause it is a bit lighter

someone awhile back made a thread of what the I/O lenses look like in person, i wish someone could dig that up
