Smith helmet sizing

Do most of the smith hlemets run by the same size? Im looking at ordering a smith maze, uffortunatly none of my local shops carry them so i cant try out sizes. However my friend does have a variant in medium and it fits me pretty well.

Is this a reliable way of sizing my head for the maze?
 
smith helmets run a little bit smaller in my opinion. I have a size 7 1/4 (57.7cm) new era hat size and i have a size large holt that i wear a beanie and googles under.
Btw the holts and maze run the same size
 
I also wear a 7 1/4 new era or a 7 1/2, they both fit me.

And so if i fit into a holt medium well the maze should also size the same?
 
^some times theyre not very accurate. On paper i should wear a medium RED but i tried a medium trace on and it was really tight. The large fit me best.
 
I went to a local sports store today totally not expecting to find anything and i end up finding maze, turns out the sizing chart was wrong because according to it i fit a medium, but according the the maze it self im a large.

Ohwell atleast i figured it out
