SLVSH GoPro Setup

I want to improve my follow cam setup a bit. We have a hero 6 and a hero 8 and one gimbal. I haven't really used the hero 8 with the gimbal yet but do you think the gimbal is even necessary with hypersmooth? My main question is how to add a mic to this. I have never used a mic in the past but I find that the sound of a landing or rail really makes edits way better. What mic should I get and how do I set it up? Also I have the feiyu g6 gimbal. I think I could attach a mic to this but is it possible to use a mic without a gimbal or no?

I think if you need a gimbal depends on how steady you are without it, just gonna have to test!

in terms of mic I'd look into gimbal gods setup. I think gopro might make a microphone now, but theres a chance its only usable on the newer models?

Ok. I did a little research. GoPro has a mic now. There is one that works with the hero 8 but it is different than the one for the hero 9.

Gimbal God uses both the gopro mic and this mic but he was using this mic on his RED camera. This mic's audio does seem waaaay better when they are compared and it's only 20 bucks more.

Two Questions:

1. Has anyone ever used either of these mics and how did you like them?

2. Would the hennheiser MKE200 work with a gopro? It seems like it works with an iphone and most DSLR cameras.
