Hahahahaha 10/10K

Under the Beauty And the Beast picture did anyone read that post? It says something about all men being rapists?

What the fuck? It didn't say anything close to that. It made an argument about rape jokes not being funny, it didn't say all men were rapists.

he's talking about the post on the website...

"Not speaking up about rape jokes condones unequivocally bad behavior, demeans victims

Excerpt:

Make no mistake, this isn’t a policing of your thoughts. You’re entitled to think whatever you like without fear of punishment. Your thoughts are your own business. What I’m asking is that you filter your speech a bit and not be so careless with your words…

‘As a blog post from Men Speak Up says, “Virtually all rapists genuinely believe that all men rape, and other men just keep it hushed up better. And more, these people who really are rapists are constantly reaffirmed in their belief about the rest of mankind being rapists like them by things like rape jokes, that dismiss and normalize the idea of rape.’

This is also true for casually racist behavior, or casually transphobic behavior. That shit don’t exist in a vacuum.

Not even your massive chin can save you from this one, Gaston."

im so confused, there not sluts but they are gonna call themselves sluts? i need to read the women logic thread again, i must have missed something somewhere

So, you still acknowledge that my post is funny, and the fact that you're immature in one post.

Congratulations for making it onto my mental list of dumbasses on the internet, enjoy your stay.

So you take my post seriously, and try and make me feel dumb about it?

Congratulations on making me dislike you more than I already did, drink bleach.

By the way, from what I have seen, you are far more immature than me

Different groups of peoples with different stances. Some just want to do away with the word slut, others want to reclaim it.

Also, they're

Last summer my brother posted on the facebook wall for the one in DC. He didn't read the description and didn't realize that it was a walk for rape victims. He thought it was literally a walk for sluts. So he posted calling all the girls easy with low self esteem, etc., etc. It was literally the most epically hilarious thing I'd ever read in my entire life. He felt like such an asshole when he finally realized what it was.

Things like this make me care less and less about NS. People don't realize how this is a real problem that affects real people. Fuck off. Just because a woman doesn't dress to your conception of modesty does not make her a slut, it also don't give anyone the right to do anything to her without her clear consent.

Getting fucking hammered and fucking a dude in a parking garage =/= rape.. She was drunk, made a mistake, and cried rape. If my girlfriend got drunk and fucked a guy in a parking garage, I'd spit in her face and call her a whore too.

It does if she never fucking consented. You can't just assume that because she flirted with someone that she consented to having sex.

Just remember that you may not know the lady in the image, so you can't say exactly what happened that night. She may have been raped, she may have cried rape for fear of being of negative repercussions. It is not for anyone to say, that image don't give us the full story. This is directed at both parties in this argument.

For sure, but I think the second image is fucked up as hell. It reassigns the action of rape into an effect of the way the women acted, rather than it being the choice of the rapist.

Under the thought that she was raped, she becomes a stand in for all women who have been raped, because the second image implies that all women who have been raped caused it, which is just not true. It excuses those who rape by saying its the women's fault, she dressed "too slutty", "she asked for it." Even if this woman was not raped, I don't think that society as a whole should think the second image is in anyway acceptable, because of the discursive implications it has.

I have known a few fucked up bitches that have said some of my friends raped them they all consented to having sex with them they were just whores and made up lies to try and make their boyfriends not mad at them.. to me that's just a completely different level of fucked up.

ar6 rider has a point there have been a case where a guy from my school got called rape on and after a bit of investigation he was innoscent and it was just a bitch trying to get attention and fuck over a dude she didnt like

Yeah, thats a falsifiable situation, you can prove it to be true or false. I just think the picture is deplorable and that when people present all rape victims (and victims is a very loaded term) as women who were just asking for it, it lessens the impact of rape and allows people to be rapists.

Go ahead and dislike those women who lied about rape, thats deplorable, but never portray someone you dont know as lying about rape.

obviously, there were cases when girls claim rape just to cover up their mistakes infront of their parents or even themselves. but they really need this protection and cops have to believe women more, as crazy as this sounds, because men are a lot stronger and can thereby really fuck some shit up and without a real fear of getting caught (1 on 1 situation in court?), shit would explode, as men do not see a real issue with rape, which might is instinctive or so (lot of animals prefer it "rough"), but thats not an excuse.

i think the real issue is that men underestimate the impact of rape and use singular cases "where my buddy got fucked" to destroy the credibility of ANY rape claim, especially those where alcohol is in the mix. seriously guys, how dumb can you be? just because a girl drinks a couple, shes not blackout drunk.

obviously there are cases where a girl is just too careless and ends up rolling on the floor in a club and gets taken advantage of. but i seriously doubt that these cases represent a noticeable amount of all rapes.

another aspect to keep in mind are all the women who shut the fuck up about rape because they still fear the rapist/are afraid of societal consequences. and by stamping all/most rape victims as drunk fuckheads who got what they asked for, wont help in these matters.

thank you. This idea that a drunk girl can just claim rape pisses me off. Its not rape. If you go out to a party, get drunk, act flirty and fuck a guy its not rape, its your fault. Now if you didn't actually consent and said no then that is a different story.

One of my good friends was fucked over at his school by this same exact situation. Girl had a boyfriend, boyfriend found out, girl freaked out and said she was raped.

This double standard, pseudo-feminist "slutwalk" shit is ridiculous. I want to have a male slutwalk for guys who were "raped" by ugly chicks they didn't want to get with. I wonder how that would be received by the public.

I agree. I understand that yeah, some girls cry rape to make themselves feel better or protect themselves from the wrath of their boyfriends, but this is definitely not true in all cases. I have been in situations where I've seen completely sober guys clinging to absolutely wasted girls and definitely taking advantage of them. Yeah, the girls shouldn't have gotten so drunk in the first place BUT that doesn't mean guys are allowed to go and use it to their advantage or say it was the girls fault. If a girl's ability to consent is compromised by alcohol, drugs etc. then they shouldn't be touched.

That picture makes me sick because I have seen girls who were unsuccessfully trying to get guys to leave them alone when they were drunk. Just this past August I was out in Greece with a group of people, and one of the girls ended up having a bit too much to drink. When we found her she was literally trying to fight off a group of guys who were obviously sober and trying to get her out on her own. Its really fucking scary. She didn't want the attention from those guys, and most definitely wasn't "asking for it," She just wanted to have a good time out with her friends but ended up having a bunch of creeps go after her because they saw she had been drinking.

The majority of us make the mistake of drinking too much at least once in our lives. Guys and girls both do it. The shitty thing is, there really isn't the same risk for a guy to be "taken advantage" of as a girl would be. Blaming these women for their rape's or whatever went down is pretty cruel, especially since we all have no prior knowledge of what exactly happened. How do you know that girl didn't have her drink drugged, or that the guy she was with knew she was too drunk to consent? What if he just pushed her into a stairwell when she was drunk and didn't listen to her when she asked him to stop? Its pretty hard for a girl to fight off a rapist when sober, so I can imagine its pretty much next to impossible when she's hammered.

We can't deny that women are raped and taken advantage of, especially while at parties. Yeah, there are definitely some situations in which the woman DID consent and tried to frame the guy. But more often than not they legitimately have reasons to cry rape and in that I support them 100%. Yeah, you can blame the girl for being too drunk or whatever, and call her a slut, but that doesn't mean she deserves to have her body violated. Shit happens, and people DO drink too much. Overall, I think this SlutWalk or whatever is a good thing, and it raises awareness about the fact that we as a society have a job to do. If you see a girl who has a guy clinging too her and is obviously too fucked up to make a proper decision or it looks like he is taking advantage of her then DO SOMETHING and get her out of that situation. Guys should learn that if a girl is too drunk to walk straight then maybe they shouldn't try to get with her. If a girl you know is acting out of character and is really messed up consider the fact that she might've been drugged. That stuff happens, and that photoshopped picture disgusts me.

truth.

my problem with the slutwalk is it only seems to address after the fact. they dont seem to teach preventative measures. every situation you described is awful, but totally preventable if girls have someone safe to hang around with the whole night. day one of college, every RA says don't go out alone, dont come back alone. that should apply to every person who ever goes out drinking

i totally see the necessity of the "after the fact" part, but do they speak on how to party safely?

its a shame we live in a world where anyone is at risk of being taken advantage of.

and yes this argument only applies to a situation where alcohol is involved

i have no idea what this thread is about, but i once had a band, more of a collective, called slutwash. we basically drank ourselves stupid then jammed/ raged loud, cacophonous, punky rock sludge for hours on end. good times

Their main concern is the fact that people need to take preventative measures. Slutwalk isn't about teaching people to be safe, its about teaching people not to objectify women.

Certainly, going out with a friend is always good. But people get split up at parties, someone might go to the bathroom, go to grab another drink, then find their friend is gone. Plus, people can be overpowered and intimidated into leaving others alone. Just going out with a friend doesn't solve hte problem. The only way to solve the problem is to not take advantage of women. Additionally, women shouldn't always have to be on the defensive.

Also it applies to daily life, not just when drinking is involved. There are plenty of sexual assaults against sober people who are intimidated into accepting it.

Lost so fucking hard hahahaha.

But to this walk subject:

It can go either way. I don't believe the name is fit. I thought I'd see a bunch of babes in skimpy clothes jiggling down the street. They should promote it as something like a feminine respect walk or something to that nature.

To the picture that says what she says, what she means

Funny, but fuck you.

totally. i tried to make it clear that i was only trying to speak in on the discussion of the picture of the girl holding the (photoshopped) sign. and that discussion revolved around alcohol.

attention whoring to the max.

also the point they are trying to make is pretty dumb too.

would you wear a lady gaga meat suit into a lion's den? no. would you wear stripper clothing in a sketchy area at night? also no.

I'm not saying rape is okay, but if you're a fucking idiot about it...
