The mountain has kept this fairly quiet even though they are well aware of the issue. The mountain has not taken any safety measures to stop deaths from happening because it would stunt profit. The problem is the out of control rental program and ticket sales. One holiday weekend there weren't enough available ski patrol to tend to everyone on the mountain. The mountain literally sold over 11,000 tickets that weekend (just for reference deer valley tickets cap out at 10,000).
It's a shame that there have been any deaths at all, However, I don't see the mountain doing anything about it.
