Slow motion falling

happens to me more when I crash my car then when I crash skiing, but yea I know what you mean. So much time to think about how much it is going to hurt, before it actually hurts.

same, and when you huck like a mother you feel like your in the air forever even if you know your going to stomp.

yeah that happens to me too. I'll be in the air and when i realize i'm going to crash i kind of just think oh shit oh shit, oh shit really calmly, and then when i hit the ground everything goes really fast again

I actually saw a show on TV that said when your body gets in a situation of crisis your brain takes in more images per second (like a camera) so you can process at a higher speed and everything feels slower or something. But I don't know if that is true, and it isn't something you can control

the worst is when you catch an edge on the lip of a jump, because you know from the second you leave the lip you are fucked

That happens because time isn't real. When your about to get hurt or something like that, you brain starts processing super fast so everything slows down and you can think super duper duper fast

Did that yesterday...I tried to spin too hard and it was a soft lip...at about 270 (was going for a 7)with one ski below me and the other above...helmet bounced off the landing and I seemed to slide forever...

when i ruptured my spleen last year, the world seriously stopped. i sacked up to try a spin on this kicker that was bigger then anything ive ever hit, and as soon as i got 180 i knew i was fucked cause i hadnt kept my compsure and let my momentum carry me, so i flew threw the air sideways and watched the ground get closer. i fuckin swear erthing stoppped, and pretty much carried on a conversation with my friends on the deck saying how much it was gonna suck when i stopped floating. but yea as soon as you hit your just like "yup this sucks as much as i thought it would"

i know this is gonna sound wierd, but when i am playing snake on my phone at a really high speed, if i concentrate on it really hard, it seems like it is moving slower.

but ya it happens to me when im in the air and i know im gonna crash, its really wierd

I absolutely hate those slow motion "oh shit" moments because I know im completely fucked and I can't do anything about it, nothing to do but wait for the hard landing to arrive.

i love it when u catch an edge in pow like spinning a drop or soemthing and everything does slow down and then u thinki hey this is pow it even hurt!

This made me just think of something really wierd, does everyones brain work at the same speed? Or am I like 2 seconds ahead and just viewing stuff fast or are you guys like 2 seconds behind and just viewing it slow, there would be no way to tell I think right?

it really depends on what im falling on, if i say mess up a cork or am going to over/under-shoot a jump, i have a lot of time and can adjust to the fall usually. if it's like catching on a rail, it's a train wreck it's so fast i dont even know what's happening till i hit the ground.

I've had falls where I'm tomohawking down a chute and it feels like it's going by way more slowly than it really is. Probably since i'm concentrating so hard on stopping myself before I hit the huge shelf of rocks.

when sliding backwards down the landing on your back after a double eject it takes sooo fucking long to come to a stop

I crashed my car this winter while passing two cars on an apparently snow covered road.. As my car turned sideways on the road all I said the entire time was "Oh fuck" and I gripped the steering wheel and ended up in the woods... I remember thinking the entire time "Wow I'll probably be dead in like a second... this sucks"

Yeah that happened to me too. My friend says "I love snow covered roads" and starts "drifting"...then he lost it. And for what seemed like 5 minutes, I watched us head towards a telephone pole. And even though I had time to brace myself for impact, I still hit my head.

yeah I ended up going far into the woods, and happened to pass a telephone pole... It was on the left side of the road and the pole was on the right side of my car..
