Slight bulge in base

How bad is it to have a slight bulge in your ski base. It is barley noticeable, but if i get up close there is an almost perfect circle like protrusion right underfoot.

it has been a lot of thin cover skiing here on the east coast and i think it may have happened form hitting a rock or something. Interestingly enough there is not crape or gouge or crater like depression, just a circle like bulge smaller than a dime.

i can post pics later today if anyone would like.

Your binding screw was too long or they didn't pre drill deep enough and when they mounted your bindings it had to push the core/base material downwards to get the binding to sit flat. go to the shop and tell them they dimpled your bases.

I didn't actually read your entire post. Check to see if there is a binding screw directly above it. If not, the base might have delaminated from a number of causes.

I did just get them mounted, i looked them over, but i'm not sure if i ever thought to check the bases.

Thanks for the advice!

My ski shop didnt predrill far enough so he just didnt drill all the way to flat and my binding kinda wiggles around when not locked in. With the boot in it is stable.

Take em back and they can remove the screw, grind a mm or two off the screw and then use a little heat and a stonegrind and get those bases flat again.
